I'm very pleased to get to work with Karl's music yet again as we have collaborated on many projects together. When I first heard 'Haust' (Icelandic for Autumn), I was haunted by the richness of the bowed sound and the grinding industrial textures that spoke to me about the extreme environment in Iceland (https://soundcloud.com/sesar/haust). I asked Karl if I could contribute and a few weeks later I'm proud to present our 8th collaboration.

We are very happy to present today a great singer and songwriter, as well as a sensational musician and producer named Richard Gonfrier. With him we have had a great musical connection that has been transformed into this wonderful pop song called "Just Tell Me More".
From MTM we are very grateful to Richard, his girlfriend Delphine for making the cover, the great work done, how professional he has been and what a wonderful person that despite the distance we have intuited at all times that he is.
We are nobody to say it, but I hope that Richard can allow us to express that ... surely a person very close to him and who has recently left for another wonderful place, will be listening to him with great pride.

Mill Lane is our temporary rehearsal space this year - located in the nth suburbs of Hobart its a huge warehouse that is in the process of being emptied of museum equipment. Each week the space gets bigger and more cathedral like as the crates go out the roller door. Heres a little taste from the other night.. you will need to excuse me on 2 fronts - My zoom seems to be reaching the end of its life so the recordings is pretty scratchy and 2 I reckon i am a bit out of tune... anyway the energy is good and the ears locked in to what the other musician is doing which I guess is the main thing. The Distributed & Vertical Relish Concerto for Electronic Quartet and Water (disquiet0649)

Recorded on 19 Apr 2024, 27-31 May 2024 & 06 Jun 2024. Mixed and mastered on 07 Jun 2024 by Jim Lemanowicz at Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories of Massapequa. 

Process notes - 

I set the track up to roughly follow the golden ratio alongside the conventions of a concerto, like this -

1:36 - presto 158bpm
2.56 = 153.6 = 2.33 - adagio 44bpm  (4:09)
0.625 = 37.5 - allegro - 120bpm  (4:46.5)

I am calling this "distributed" because I threw away the notion that a concerto needs a solo instrument but instead leaned closer to Ornette Coleman and "collective improvisation," which I have always believed was inspired by the older "Dixieland" jazz.

May I be able to make a normal song to all tastes? This rock ballad was my best opportunity, though I had to prog it a bit... well, please tell me.
