What It Means

On “cold water,” the second single off Masok’s second Raw Tapes LP, "challenge accepted," Jenny Penkin hits us with a feeling we all know too well: “End of days, it caught me just a little unprepared like cold water.” But dread never feels this funky. Over stuttering beats, twinkling guitar and wriggling bass, Penkin levitates above it all, singing from somewhere off in space. It’s the perfect first taste of challenge accepted—Masok’s playful take on our modern anxieties with a future-soul sound.

Two Things Of Gold is mother-son dynamic collaborative project between jazz funk disco hop hop  rap and ambient  excursions.
The duo, Francesca Sortino well-known jazz singer and songwriter and the producer/dj Diego Lombardo aka  DIIIEGO 
launched their collaborative project  with the brilliant “Be Free” (2017) and released   Two Things Of Gold (2023 A.MA Record) the eponymous double vinyl album.
