One of the most impressive agricultural inventions of Uncle Hassell's lifetime was center-pivot irrigation, in which a long structure of wheeled trusses supporting a water pipeline and anchored to a central point, slowly makes its way around a field to evenly provide water to crops. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_pivot_irrigation

This piece was composed in an attempt to evoke the slow motion of these gigantic contraptions and the hissing of their multiple sprinklers.
