This song is about coming out the other end .. .honestly my songs are'nt written with a particular event in mind they just kind of unfold .. i like the idea that they evoke differing stories and memories for everyone

This song was originally written by Chris Maddison RM who i served with on board HMS Ocean during Op Telic (Iraq 2) ... we where in a band on board the ship together and shortly before he went out on patrol we rehearsed this part-penned tune of his .. sadly he never returned from patrol as he was killed ... i decided to finish the song and played it whilst still on board to the rest of 9ASRM (His Lads) and from there we decided to record the song in his honour with the intention of doing something with it for charity!! .. over the last 12 years the song has been on a bit of journey where it has helped provide some solace for Chris's parents and family (i had the honour of meeting them and playing the song for them)i have played it in many countries around the world always telling the story, it even found its way into the White house!!  and in its own way it has brought a lot of happiness to the world and kept Chris's Strong spirit alive but sadly never hitting the initial hopes we had for it originally .. UNTIL NOW!!!!! ...... as if by design and just the way it was supposed to happen the song found its way to Jamie Sanderson EX RM who heads up a fantastic charity called Rock2Recovery which focuses on helping Forces personal (past and present)recognize, come to terms with learn to deal with and ultimately recover and repair the Damage caused by PTSD.... to my surprise Jamie asked to use the song as the Charities main anthem with the words written being incredibly poignant in regards to PTSD .. .this has been a real honour for me to be involved with these guys and we are all working hard just now to re-record the song and release it in support of the Charity to do what we had hoped for it to do all those years back......
