Mike Shannon brings his debut Rekids Special Projects EP 'Shadow Moves' to Radio Slave's label, following the internationally acclaimed producer releasing three albums on respected imprints Plus 8, Force Inc and ~Scape. Alongside releases on his storied Cynosure Recordings, the forthcoming three-track 'Shadow Moves' EP restates why Shannon holds such a revered status in modern electronic music. The ‘Shadow Moves’ EP sees the Canadian artist deliver sublime techno with well-chiselled grooves.

After 'Shadow Moves', the next nod to its manga inspiration, 'Shijima', moves through tight percussive layering and jaunty, bass-led build-ups. Then comes 'B4B' featuring rhythmic, shaking subs as its clattering kick drums sit beneath. 'The Way We Rise' finalises the EP with shifting hi-hat patterns and growling bass levels as the cut weaves through its striding beats.

Naarm's groove merchants Birdsnake are crafting a name for themselves as one of the most entrancing acts in the local scene. They provide a free-flowing sensory experience that seamlessly combines acid jazz, psychedelic funk and down tempo grooves. The band's immersive live show is a blend of dubbed out rhythms and percussive textures that pull audiences into transcendental, droney realms.

On their journey exploring hypnotic soundscapes, Birdsnake's debut EP promises to deliver the same electric energy and airy melodies that people have come to love from their live shows. Tilting towards an electronic palette, Birdsnake Begins is a flavorsome and varied body of work showcasing the group’s love for synthesizers and pulsating beats. This release marks not just the birth of a record, but also the crystallization of the band's evolution thus far. Listeners can expect a meticulously mastered record that explores the marriage of digital and organic sounds. This record is an auditory treat for both seasoned listeners and new explorers of the Birdsnake universe.

Here we have 'Well Travelled' from Melbourne's percussive, dubby, electronic funk outfit that is 'Birdsnake.' 'Well travelled' is a down tempo ode to the bush doof. We aimed to capture the feeling of walking through the forest back to the stage for a dance after some down time.

During summer of 2023 we got the idea to unite norwegian and georgian producers to a compilation for the further enhancing of our nations bond. Rather than just asking for tracks, we sent out an invitation commisioning everyone involved to make a smooth track. As per usual on LEK, there were no limitations in terms of genre, but the track had to be somewhat relevant to the floor.

The total variety of different expressions far exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to present this compilation ranging all the way from deep dubby downtempo, party house, electro in many forms, and multi-crossovers.
