Keeping the White Isle’s underground scene stocked and supported with all everything vinyl related, Ibiza’s record store ‘More Than Music’ is now set to launch their own self styled vinyl imprint. They’re first 12" will be christened by none other than in form Romanian producer Dragos Dumitru aka Cally, who’s smooth and rhythmically energised blend of minimal house & techno has been seen him release on London’s 'Fear of Flying’ and Hanover label ‘Malonian’, alongside sharply executed remixes for the likes of Romanian label Cersennin & Welsh imprint Curtea Veche. Its always exciting to hear new material from Cally and this new venture for MTM hits all the right spots, coming from an artist who’s finding his niche within flourishing Ro-minimal soundscape.

Immediate A side opener and title track 'Yes no, Maybe so' is a moody floor shaker, it's tensile pads and moody over tones float above a bumping, signature Cally bass line. Straight up and to the point, this is a groove thats geared for peak time usage, its snappy percussive flow will definitely keep spirits heightened on the dance floor. 

A turn to the B side and we find Copenhagen’s own Martinez flipping B2’s ‘Decisions’ into a swingy, hi hat fuelled minimal house groove. Here he turns the rather introspective melodics of the original on its head, utilising a solid undercarriage of static 4/4 beats over which bleepy electronics and pads circulate in heady formation. Finally we come to B2’s ‘Decisions’.. a beautifully refined minimalist techno cut thats all about contrast. The low end characterised by a meaty, acid edged bass line motif that drives forward in uncompromising fashion. Whilst the upper end plays host to subtle melodic tones and pads that whisper in echoed voices. A transportive cut that lulls the heart and mind into a blissful state of consciousness.

Once again Cally wows and his emotive and intuitively crafted productions are generating more excitement by the minute. MTM know good music and this exciting collaboration certainly won’t be the last for the label, as they shift more of their focus into the vinyl release format. Stay tuned.

It's easy to look outside, not so easy to look within...
Breath deep, open your mind's eye and get ready to soar the astral plane with CON010: Conscious, coming at you from the Netherland's Den Haas.

Opening things with a deep, but irresistibly tight rhythm, the EP's titular track sets a delightful tone that pervades the entire release. Next up is certainly Something, a track that beckons listeners with dreamy pads embracing a fluttering bass - the overall effect being the perfect track for warming things up or closing things out at sunrise. The final original offering, Garden, is something from Eden itself... A pumping kick and crunchy hat combo drive over a bouncing bass that falls into a pit of transcendental synths and woody tribal pops.

Romanian star Olivian Nour jumps on the EP for a decidedly digitised remix of Conscious with a low-down club groove certain to take dance-floors to the other dimension.

Label Sphère comes back with another stellar sounding compilation! "Nineteen Sixty Nine" The French label, based in Paris, is back with another release, their 9th effort, with guests from all over Europe. An all-round electronic release, with complex narratives and many facets. Everything from minimal club bangers in the form of Sakdat & Balaur and Versilov’s contributions, finely weaved breakbeat cuts from Sylan 101 and John Manhard, ethereal soundscapes like Dehes’ “Prismo” with far-travelling echoes from the night before, and other tunes like Bjika's "Space Ramen" that paint the soundtrack of your late-night drive or your star gazing nights. The compilation anchors itself to a recurrent combination of pads, strong basslines and minimal percussions, with the vaporous presence of that dreamy and nostalgic feeling synonymous with the label, perfectly encapsulated in Andreiclv's tracks.
