Manny Cuevas aka M-TRAXXX Presentz 'Thee Black Tape Filez' #3_9 - 17 - 2021'

I recorded this mix in August 2020. We were a good five months into the pandemic and I was finding myself in a world of change. I had come across a sound I had heard before, but in a different context. Cumbia's but pitched down (rebejadas I learned they're called). I had also been thinking about where the nightlife/party scene was and I've felt for a long while that long form parties (outside of the club context) were more healthy and a return of the chillout room from my 90s era rave days. Less of a rush to dive into the evening and more freedom to let the dancefloor unfurl before you and the opportunity to take a break, eat fruit, have a calm moment soundtracked by subtle rhythms and deep rolling bass tones.

I dove back into some old R&S and Rising High. I dug deeply into random corners of Central and South American Bandcamp. My aim was a chillout room experience that teetered on the edge of danceable. I hope you enjoy.
