Vinyl Time Capsule: 31 Mins of Deep Tech House (2000s Era)

I first stepped behind the decks in 1997, and within a few years, I landed a residency on Point Blank FM (now known as Release FM) during the golden era of the late ‘90s. In 2002, I took my passion for music overseas to Thailand, where I became a key figure in Koh Samui’s legendary scene, holding residencies at the Black Moon parties in Rocky Bay and the iconic Sound Club. I had the privilege of sharing lineups with legends like Brandon Block, Jo Mills, Dave Seaman, and Gilles Peterson. I also made my mark at Haadrin’s Big Boom Bar, spinning tracks at the world-famous Full Moon Parties, creating unforgettable nights under the stars.

My sound is rooted in the harder side of house – a mix of tech house, indie dance, and tech acid house. It’s full-on, driving, and energetic music with deep, rolling acid house basslines. Think tracks like “Acid Luv” from Basement Jaxx’s Junction EP – gritty, raw, and banging, yet still infused with that unmistakable groove.

During this time, I also launched my own record label, Sound Can Kill Records, signing myself and my band Sonic Surgery to the label. Unfortunately, we hit a tough moment in the industry – vinyl shops were closing down due to the internet boom, and the market took a serious hit. Despite this, we managed to sell a solid number of singles in Germany, the UK, and even Australia, but the changing landscape of the industry proved difficult, and I eventually stepped away from DJing for a long time.

More recently, the passion reignited, and I started a fresh acid house night called Shore Sound down in Brighton. It’s been an exciting return to the decks. I’ve been back at festivals, with bookings like Nobody’s Meadow Festival and Pete Bones’ Warm Your Cockles Night, where I also joined Pete for an incredible gig at The Exit Bar in Tampa, Florida. I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside Thunder Pony from the U.S. and the legendary Bill Brewster.

These days, you can catch me DJing in Brighton during the summer, headlining our Shore Sound Brighton Beach Acid House Rave – where I bring my signature sound: pumping tech acid house, indie dance, and full-on, bass-heavy beats. It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m just getting started again.
