The History of Drag

My name is Jo and I am the owner of Hair and Skin Margate. A two floor Super Salon offering Creative cuts, Colour, Barbering, Beauty, Aesthetics and Nurse injectable clinics. My vision is to create not just a salon but become the centre of the community. Launching the Gold room VIP club which celebrates our regular super salon clients, offering reward and extra services including exercise classes. support groups and charity events. We also have obtained a full club certificate licence meaning we can host live music, film and serve food and alcohol, with plans to really expand on this as we move out of the Covid restriction. I think its time for salons as we know it to change and after a year of hardship, clients visits become the get away and engagement they need away from home and regular socialising stresses. 
I have been in the beauty, leisure, fashion and retail industry for over 20 years, working around the UK for premium brands including Molton Brown, La Prairie, Virgin YSL in locations including Harrods and London Oxford street.
Over the years I have become a expert in the beauty world, constantly re training and keeping updated on all the latest treatments is a passion. Recently I have began to show casing my knowledge appearing on regular radio interviews " Feel fabulous Fridays" with local radio station, Academy FM giving free advice and chat on all things Hair and Beauty originally created for advice over 2020-21 lockdowns but continuing due to popularity.
I am also a keen business developer, specialising in crisis management, buy outs and people management especially staff motivation.
I have bubbly and infectious personality often proudly referred to as eccentric, loves fashion and polishing my top to toe look with make up and matching nails, shoes, heels always and bold colours, my style being unique and an extension to my personality.
I have a body art business called Glitterskinz, which is animal inspired air brush body art finished with bio degradable glitter, something really unique and eye catching which I hope to fully launch next year after briefly starting before lockdown 2020. 
My personal goal as I reach my mid 40's is to pursue and develop my Media skills, way back in my teens I had dreams of becoming a T.V presenter, studying A'level Theatre and Media, later considering applying for Big Brother but then being unsure and pursuing beauty retraining at collage for two years and first job working for Richard Branson's Living river therapies in London. 
I hope that my radio feature can help reach out to the wider media world and the right opportunity may come my way, as a highly positive and driven person I believe its "never too late".
