Kenny Alphin, known professionally as Big Kenny is a singer, songwriter, humanitarian, farmer, lover of everybody, husband, father, brother, gardener, carpenter, head honcho of the University of Creativity, producer, ﬁsherman, Muzik Maﬁa Godfather, welder and one creative guy. Together, he and John Rich comprise the duo Big & Rich, which have charted a remarkable 10 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

As a solo artist, Kenny has written top 10 hits for himself as well as Tim McGraw (“Last Dollar”), Gretchen Wilson (“Here For The Party”), Jason Aldean (“Hicktown,” “Amarillo Sky”), and been named BMI’s Songwriter of the Year. As half of the Grammy-nominated super duo Big & Rich, Kenny has sold in excess of ﬁve million albums.

In 2007, Kenny was deeply moved by the genocide that was occurring in Sudan’s Darfur region, and joined artists such as U2, Green Day, R.E.M. and Aerosmith to create the Instant Karma beneﬁt CD for Amnesty International – which raised over 5 million dollars. A strong believer in sustainability, Kenny funded the building of the Kunyuk School for Girls in Akon, Sudan and chartered planes to deliver medical and school supplies, musical instruments, clothing and building materials and tools. When Kenny wrote Tim McGraw’s No. 1 hit “Last Dollar,” he donated his royalties to the Kunyuk School, so their enrollment could increase from 250 to over 1,000 girls. He documented his journey on ﬁlm, and since debuting it at the Nashville Film Festival in 2008, has utilized the ﬁlm to spread awareness of the cause. In recognition of his efforts, the Save Darfur Coalition named Kenny their December 2008 “Darfur Hero.”

Alarmed by mountaintop coal removal in Appalachia, Kenny has become involved with the Natural Resources Defense Council, which is working to end this egregious practice. In 2010, Kenny performed a beneﬁt concert “Music Saves Mountains” in Nashville with Dave Matthews, Emmylou Harris and Alison Krauss, to bring the issue to the forefront. “They are tearing down the oldest forests in the country to get at coal that will be gone tomorrow,” he says. “They could be installing windmills on that same land that would provide clean power for years and years to come.”

some say it was fate, others say a terrible coincidence. But regardless of such unimportant details here is how the story goes thus far. 
Black Jash, formed in gretna in 1908. They just didn’t know it then. When Sir Wintermere Cuthbertson and his man servant known only as "crabs" were ejected from their lodgings for an incident involving a wench and whore dog, they took shelter in a nearby opium den. A fracas soon erupted due to the pair trading the newly discovered coco bean as "Dr Finckledicks Marvelous Opium Tablets" to regulars at a "cut" price and forcing themselves on many of the unwilling buyers. Cursing the world from the gallows, Sir Wintermere swore that his seed would come back in 100 years to reap revenge on all. 
It was now the year of our lord 2008. 100 years had passed and many generations later Bob Cuthbertson, Known as Rod to conceal his identity and Neil "the Other one" Armstrong, alias Noel, formed Black Jash. They did not plan this but were compelled to after both sharing the same wet dream with visions of Sir Wintermere and his man servant. After recruiting a drummer from the local fish market they recorded some cassettes and bribed sales by giving away a free minow with every purchase. After playing numerous shows around the borders of Scotland and England, their drummer, known affectionately as "liam", left to persue his dream of sailing the seas to harpoon blobfish leaving the trio once more as a two-o. This two-o then recorded a split cassette with with Glasgow youngsters The Male Pattern Band, in an attempt to corrupt their fair countries youth.
 
Out of chance Rob and Noel met Alan and Pete (who’s names are also changed to protect their true identities, Alex and Pauley) at a local convention for the film “planes, Trains, and automobiles” in the summer of 2010. Being the only attendees, the four of them bonded over their shared love of John Candy’s face when he steals Steve Martins taxi and such phrases as “those aren’t pillows” and the moving “my wife likes me, my customers like me”. After finding themselves in a Gin intensified stupor, Alan and Pete agreed, drunkenly, to joining Black Jash’s cause by both filling in the drummers position, a choice they instantly regretted on awakening in a pool of their own vomit with hazy recollections of guns, gaffa tape, parental murder threats and overall blackmail. And yes they both play drums in the band AT THE SAME TIME. Fueled with a mixture of fear and  Stockholm syndrome. The pair have not seen their families since last summer but are fed a stable and regimented diet by their captors. 
 
A failed rescue attempt by the other members of Alan and Pete’s own band “Manatees” resulted in the spectacular “The Black Manajash Arkestra”,  a line up of two guitars, Bass and THREE full drum kits which played a few shows before Rod and Noel “extinguished” the extra members, for “knowing too much”,  leaving Alan and Pete with no alternative but to remain with their psychotic mentors. 
 
The 4 piece, double drumming “band” entered Glasgow’s Green Door studio to record five tracks on Halloween 2010, recorded mainly live and in the analog format, this latest attempt brings back to basics the ethics of simple rocking out just like momma used to make, ala Stooges, MC5, Fugazi, except make no mistake, these corrupt hoodlums are no where near as good, but like all deviants this does not matter to them and will not stop their quest for total domination. Rod, Noel and hostages Pete and Alan will be bringing Black Jash to more venues in the coming year, to drink, play, disgust, amuse, abuse, and generally bash out some unadulterated garage rock. 
Sir Wintermere’s curse will live on.
