Paul and Conrad

An immersive soundscape, that merges field recordings with a track by Snow*Omen @snow_omen (Improvisation Nr. 9 for two guitars and voice). Field recordings: Westhafen (West harbour), Berlin. 
Except for the musical part and not in order of appearance: 
A freight train passes.
A small boat rattles against the mooring.
Scrap metal is transported from one scrap heap to another.
Trucks drive past.
A crane lifts containers. 
An annoying repetitive electronic signal starts and stops at some point. 
A rude dude asks me from a distance to switch off the camera that I don't have, as I record with my Zoom H2N.
Small waves splash against the harbor basin.
And there's wind...

Westhafen

"Ember" is an electroacoustic composition that serves as a sonic portrait of a profoundly inspiring period in my life. This piece reflects my time studying at the Gotland School of Composition in Visby in my early twenties. One of the most breathtaking places in Gotland is Högklint, a cliff reaching 48 meters above sea level located just south of Visby, offering a view of the Baltic Sea to the west and Visby to the northeast. Inspired by the image of this place, I created this piece. Through this composition, I hope to convey the deep connection I felt to both the place and a moment in time.

selbst die gummistiefel der
bauern – und die bäche – wer
könnte nehmen, all das
nehmen – weg-
gespült, einfach fort-
gespült, die gummistiefel
