Back in December 2016, the digital marketing director of McDonald’s franchise in Dubai, who also happens to be my first cousin, suggested that I should also move to Dubai and find a company to work with which can further establish my career as a storyteller.

But currently, I’m doing very well where I am, so why would I leave my native country and move to someplace that I just don’t know?

But, just for the sake of an experience, I said to myself that if I could find a company that immensely entices me as a storyteller, then I would happily welcome the journey of finally moving out of Pakistan and moving into Dubai.

Fast forward a few days of exhaustive research and hell amounts of coffee, I stumbled upon a company called Tactical.

Originally, Tactical was suppose to be the idea for an app that perhaps would have made millions for them. Unfortunately, the app idea didn't work out so well, but the learning curve gave them the boost to start out as a web and mobile agency.

From there, Tactical became a creatively agile full service digital agency that has worked with brands like Mercedes Benz to further establish their digital presence.

I started going through all their activities on their social media channels and by far, the most interesting I found was their Instagram page.

Just take a look at the kind of Imagery they’re portraying to the world. They're fun, chilled out and immensely creative. It seems like Tactical really does allow the employees loads and loads of amount of freedom so they can become fully at ease and produce the best work possible.

When a like-minded potential client would stumble upon their social media presence, they would instantly know that Tactical has the kind of people that they would love to interact with and get the job done.

That is what Tactical believes in, getting the job done with fun like-minded people because otherwise they wouldn't be able to tackle the projects in the uniquely creative way that they know would best serve the client and their own desires to produce something meaningful.

With all this information, I once again visited Tactical’s website and saw their golden words 'Not everything works out, but that's not always a bad thing'.

I was instantly sold as I had found the perfect people to whom I can pitch to start a new YouTube channel for making video essays like these and further establish their presence through thoughtful and original content.

Now came the most challenging part where I had to create a strategy through which I could approach Tactical and pitch them about how I can lead a new department about video essays and become an integral part at their company.

Hence, the idea for this video was born where I have explained my journey of finding Tactical, what an amazing bunch of people work over there and how I would love to produce some awesome video essays with these guys.

Tactical is one of those rare companies that would entice you to collaborate with them as a storyteller and so now, I’m immensely enticed to work with them as a storyteller. Watching the 2004’s Punisher, starring Thomas Jane, I began recalling how much I loved this movie when I was a kid. But as time went on, as much as I hate to admit it, the taste of the punisher has kind of faded away for me.

But if there’s one thing from the whole film that stood the test of time then it’s most definitely the incredibly powerful performance by Thomas Jane as Frank Castle AKA the Punisher.

Thomas Jane’s Punisher is mysteriously subtle, silent and intriguing in every scene. The way he carries himself throughout the film makes you wanna watch it till the end because you can genuinely feel the pain that this character bears in the story and you can’t help but know how the arc of this character will play out.

Now more than a decade later, we got another great performance by John Bernthal as the punisher in Netflix’s hit series Daredevil and even though John Bernthal hit all the right chords of brilliant acting, it never really became as memorable as the performance by Thomas Jane.

Apart from Goldberg, Brock Lesnar is perhaps the most watchable performer of all time to ever step inside a wrestling ring. His entrance, his speed, his strength, his style, everything he puts on the stage is to make sure your attention is held until the very end of his match. You somehow just naturally get invested into a Brock Lesnar match heavily until he delivers the finale and leaves up the ramp.

Even in the beginning when Brock stepped inside a wrestling ring for the very first time, his matches were nothing less than thrilling. But the Brock Lesnar we see today is on a completely different universe than the Brock Lesnar we saw a decade ago and we just cannot possibly fathom for another WWE superstar to reach the level that Brock Lesnar is on today.

So what makes a modern day Brock Lesnar match so interesting that it becomes almost impossible for you not to tune-in?

Just like Hollywood’s beloved writer/director, Christopher Nolan, Brock Lesnar makes sure the opening of his matches are absolutely thrilling so as to put you right into the edge of your seat. This makes sure you’re hooked right from the get go and once he’s done that, Brock begins the transition into the predator mode that loves to play with his prey before finally going for the kill. Now even though this part of the storytelling becomes a little bit repetitive and slow, you’re already on-board, loving every single moment of how Brock begins the epic destruction of his opponent.

Even when he was booked to lose the match against a returning fifty year old Superman Goldberg, he made sure the opening was so nail biting, that you couldn’t help but come up with a numerous different thrilling possibilities that the match could go in.

Now as much as Brock’s techniques, physicality and in ring skills are responsible for making his performance mind blowing, it’s actually the history that Brock carries behind himself that makes it so entertaining to watch him. It’s not just the wrestling that we’re invested in, it’s actually the persona that Brock Lesnar embodies that we love to witness every time he unleashes the beast inside a wrestling ring.

Brock Lesnar as a performer and a character will always be at the forefront of our minds as we’re continuously curious to know how the beast is going to capture our attention next. Because every time he enters a ring, going through an intense storyline and a build-up, we know one thing for sure, Brock Lesnar will deliver a finale that we’re going to talk about for a long-long time and when the day comes when Brock inevitably delivers his final match, it’s undoubtedly going to stick in our minds…, for an eternity.

What Makes A Brock Lesnar Match So Interesting?

When it comes to dealing with emotions, it could arguably unanimously agreed, there is one emotion that cannot be controlled…, the emotion of love. This got me curious to find out if it’s actually possible to somehow just stop yourself…, from falling in love.

Brain science tells us that love is a driving force like thirst which is pretty self-explanatory as to why it becomes impossible to avoid it or not think about it. If you collect all the logical points about why people fall in love, there are only two scenarios which make the most sense.

The first scenario is pretty straightforward where two people are so similar to each other that it becomes a no brainer for them to end up together. If that’s the case with you, then you’re probably stuck and you definitely wouldn’t want it any other way.

The second scenario is a bit complex to understand, where two people are extremely wildly opposite to each other to the extent that it’s impossible to imagine them ending up together. But the thing which drives them to be with each other is that they look at the other person as an extension to their personality.

In a workplace setting, we have Lee and Zara. Lee is depressed and keeps his feelings blocked. He doesn’t want to have a family or a life with his mind set only on his work. Lee believes that his destiny wants him to be miserable in order to be successful.

Zara on the other hand is extravagant, beautiful, full of joy and knows how to be happy. Emotionally, she’s been through tough times as well, but she knows how to look forward and move on. 

Zara believes love and marriage is overrated and the only thing that matters in the end is a solid partnership created by honest friends where two people desire nothing more except each other’s company.

Every day, these two meet, talk and understand what the other person is about. But because of their past experiences, they’ve placed a blockage around their minds to stop themselves from feeling anything for each other. This technique is completely useless, because they see the other one as the missing part of their personality which they subconsciously desire.

Lee needs Zara because she can logically show him the way to happiness and Zara needs Lee because he understands her logic about partnership.

If they genuinely want to try not to fall in love with the other one, there is only one possible scientifically backed way of doing so. Lee will have to disconnect himself from Zara.

He will have to cut off all communications, no Facebook, Whatsapp, Messenger or phone calls. He’s going to have to resign from his job, settle for another company and never see Zara for the rest of his life.

And the thing about Lee is that despite any kind of resistance, he is more than capable of distancing himself. It’s what he’s been doing for all of his life now. Moving away from important people with whom he could have meaningful relationships and simply shoving his head deep into his work.

But the biggest twist in all of this is that Lee will just not do it. Lee will never disconnect himself from Zara. Her happiness is just too contagious for him and so Lee will finally embrace this relation that will drive him out of depression.

But as six months will pass by, the real twist will be written. Zara will disconnect herself from Lee because she will find out the darkest truth about him. When given the choice between love and greatness, Lee will always choose greatness even if it means he will have to stay alone and be miserable for the rest of his life.

Zara will move on in her journey becoming part of people’s lives who deserve her happiness and joy while Lee will be left alone in the darkness accepting his destiny of achieving success…, but at great cost.

How Not To Fall In Love?

Countless ideas, concepts, artworks, comics, movies and stories, a lot of different minds have tried to capture the essence of who the batman is and what he’s capable of. Some of them have succeeded in making the Batman a legend and an example for other storytellers to capture an immensely inspiring figure into their own fictional characters.

And that’s what makes me the most curious about what the Batman stands for. He doesn’t wear the mask and go out at night to make the city a better place, he doesn’t do it because he cares about the people of Gotham and he surely doesn’t do it because there are a handful of people who actually care about what he does with his life.

He does it because he just wants to fight crime. Batman doesn’t care what the outcome is, whether he wins or loses, if he gets to live or not, the only driving force in his mind is to wage war on the criminals of Gotham.

We all know how the reason for Batman’s psychotic purpose is simultaneously simple and complex. The pain of losing his parents has taken such a toll on his mind that he’s unable to shake it or come out of it. He’s unable to quit the war because it’s his drug and he needs more of it every night to relieve the pain that makes him suffer every day.

He’s consciously putting out a challenge to his arch nemesis like the Joker and the Riddler.

All of this psychological madness made me wonder if there’s another way for Batman to somehow treat his psychological war without putting on the cape and the cowl of the batman. The answer I came up with is no! After countless hours of going through brilliantly written and conceptualized material on the Batman, the matter is concluded that there is no other possible way for Batman to cure his psychological pain.

While sketching out Batman’s psyche in the initial phase of the character’s development, Batman’s creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger agreed that perhaps there could be nothing more traumatic than a child witnessing his parents getting murdered in front of his eyes.

A few Batman stories tell the narrative of Bruce Wayne finally finding it in himself to leave the mantle of the Batman, but these very same stories continue the arc by highlighting how Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is the real person which leads Bruce Wayne back into the action and resuming his mission to continue his reign of terror on every criminal he can get his hands on.

Christopher Nolan came the closest to giving us a believable way for Bruce Wayne to retire the mantle of Batman in 2008’s The Dark Knight, but this only drives him into further mental torture and so he somehow finds another reason to get back into the game.

Superman once called Batman the most dangerous man on earth with one of the greatest minds ever and Batman perhaps subconsciously acknowledges this which continuously leads him to be in peak human condition and acquire countless skill sets to help in his endeavor as a vigilante. He refuses to find love, settle down or let his mind calm away so that the pain he bears can continuously drive him to work on the promise he made.

Batman is not just a fictional comic book character…, he’s actually the embodiment of a question mark and the question he’s trying to ask, is why don’t you embrace the most intense pain in your life, leave your boring day jobs and wreak havoc in the field of your passion. Revolutionize your thoughts, inspire the future generations to be inspiring figures and in the process of it all…, become an unforgettable legend…, like The Dark Knight.

Batman's Never Ending Timeline

Superman is no one of those characters who completely twists your mind in deciding whether this guy is interesting, boring or perhaps both at the same time. He’s got super strength, heat vision, x-ray vision, ice breath, super speed, ability to fly, bullet proof skin and the endurance level to survive a nuclear blast. 

This guy can even travel to different universes and galaxies with unrealistic ease. Superman has been indescribably given too much with too little limitation. One man is just not supposed to have so much power stocked up altogether, it just doesn’t make any sense and that’s where the issue with Superman lies. Superman doesn’t make any sense, but for some twisted psychological reason, he is one of the biggest pop culture icons in the world today.

Originally Superman’s creators writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster didn’t even come close to envisioning the icon that we see today. He was supposed to be this weird little guy who gains psychic powers and desires nothing except personal gain. This concept was executed terribly and the idea completely flopped in epic proportions which led to internal conflicts between Jerry and Joe due to the character not finding success on any level whatsoever.

But Superman’s creators were smart, they somehow reconciled and started developing the character by giving him the shape and form that we see today. After the massive failure that their initial incarnation was, Superman transformed into the man with insurmountable power carrying the stark red cape and the iconic ‘S’ symbol.

Superman became this man with the power that all the other men would desire for personal gains, yet Superman just wants to do the right thing with the gift he’s been given.

Perhaps Jerry and Joe subconsciously desired immense power as storytellers to evade the heart breaking failure they faced before and so they projected all of their frustration in the form of a man who can do anything he wants yet he chooses to be the good guy just like Jerry and Joe could’ve chosen to be anyone in the world, yet they chose to be storytellers and created something that changed the landscape of comic book characters and storytelling for the eternity to come.

Superman is boring only if you look at him from a character point of view at a superficial level, but when you put a character like Clark Kent in stories where the people ask “Must there be a Superman” or ”The death and return of the Superman”, then you begin to see the real picture. You begin to see yourself in the world you’re living in with surging crime rates, corrupt politicians, disaster of epic proportions and conspiracy theories to turn the people against each other. Then you begin to see how wrong you are in considering Superman an uninteresting character because he’s not and we look at him all wrong.

I think now I understand why Superman became the template for other superheroes to draw from. Among all the wrong that’s going on in our world, no matter how much you deny it, we wish we had a figure like Superman in real time. We wish if not us, then someone would have all the power in the world and could still be the good guy. Truth of the matter is, no one else could be that guy except the man that we all love to call the man of steel…, Superman.

Creating Superman

Something’s happened to one of the greatest comedians of our time. He’s recently transformed into a figure that makes everyone ask, what the hell happened to Jim Carrey? From being broke, to following his ambition, to finding success, to making millions and to one day just, quietly stepping away from the spotlight. The very same spotlight that made Jim Carrey into the man loved by people all around the world as he anxiously pursued the challenge of putting a smile on our faces by subtly exaggerating the simplest of his movements.

Perhaps we’ll always remember him as a one of a kind comedian with a thousand faces, but the truth is, more than being a funny guy, Jim Carrey has the greatest command over dramatic moments that puts a doubt in our minds as to whether he’s actually a comedian or was he just pretending to be one?

The very first time he decided to take on a high profile serious role, it was when he took on the lead character in the movie Truman Show. But in order to do so, he had to take a pay cut. Carrey was soaring through the timeline of establishing himself as an unforgettable joker who made us question about how we looked at comedy and yet, when given the opportunity, he let go of the materialistic return in exchange for something more unconventional, the first chance ever to be himself in front of the camera.

Carrey has very few comedy scenes in the film, but when he’s on it, just take a look at how he plays them. He’s crazy, insane, energetic, powerful, subtle, intensely in and out of control. This is the real Jim Carrey and once he got the taste of that, he was ready to portray one of his real life idols, the song and dance man, Andy Kaufman in the thought grabbing film, Man on the moon.

Carrey continued to exert his unconventional comedic energy in the following years to come with his project choices, but it wasn’t until the mind twisting love story, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind that Carrey showed what he’s really made of. It was the tale of an introverted guy and an extroverted woman where Carrey was able to portray his character on the deepest level possible and put him in front of the audiences in a way that you imagine yourself in Carrey’s place and feel the excruciating pain of falling in love.

His choice of comedic projects continued later on, but the last time we saw Carrey with a face that made the most sense for him to play was when he unofficially continued his portrayal of his Eternal Sunshine’s character with the film ‘Yes Man’ where he played yet another closed off guy from the world who learns to say yes to all the opportunities thrown his way.

Since then, everything just sort of stopped. Carrey silently turned into someone who in his own words, was playing the character of Jim Carrey as Jim Carrey never existed. His purpose was to get famous, rich and have all the things that people desire and then just simply let it all go. Some think he’s found religion, some think he’s dramatically changed and some think that he’s simply gone mad. But the truth is far more mind twisting than that.

No matter how much I miss the Jim Carrey who made us smile and gave everyone something that’s going to stick with us until the end, I’m actually kind of glad that he’s left us. It was his leaving that has given us a mind twisting question to answer. Every morning you wake up, work hard, find success, make millions of dollars, get married, have a family and live happily ever after. But what the hell does it all mean? What does your legacy mean? Is it something people going to put aside and forget about or is it something that’s going to be remembered by if not millions, then thousands of people all around the world, impacting their lives, molding it into something gold like and inspiring them to be something similar, something better…, for an eternity to come.

Was Jim Carrey Pretending To Be A Comedian?

On the 29th of July, 2013, Johnny Depp said the following in an interview with BBC Radio: When you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year and you realize that you've said written words more than you've had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking about that as an insane option for a human being.

Spanning across numerous films, going through countless interviews and listening to his speeches, you can see a key defining element about Johnny Depp. He’s perhaps trying to tell you something, but with his brilliantly spoken dialogues and his stumbling with real life words, he’s maybe unable to convey what he really wants to say. This got me unstoppably thinking as to what one of the greatest actors in the world is really trying to tell us?

If you think about Johnny Depp, you get a very vivid image of perhaps Edward Scissorhands, Jack Sparrow, Willie Wonka and the Mad Hatter. All these characters are quirky, weird and incredibly mysterious to look at. The way Johnny looks, smiles, thinks, talks, moves and interacts while embodying these characters is something where he immeasurably distances himself from the reality.

But if you dial back the distance, you’ll find your way to three key projects that Johnny did. Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco and Black Mass where Johnny was able to take the reality and mold it into something mind twisting where you believe the fictional world is the reality and the funny thing is that all these stories were based on real life characters.

These projects were like character arcs where Johnny went from a failed crazily never giving up positive movie director to a subtly moving below the radar undercover cop to an insanely dark criminal who wouldn’t even think twice before pulling the trigger on someone.

Encapsulating all these projects, there are his interviews which hold your attention for the very same reason his performances hold your attention. Johnny tries to say something in a manner that immediately grabs. You begin to think like he’s hiding something as he carefully searches for his words and sentences.

You move on to any other interview with stars like Dicaprio or Cruise and you’ll see how they’re enjoying these incredible real life moments of stardom and spotlight whereas Johnny seems very off putting about living these moments. He seems like he desperately wants to go back to whatever character he was playing at the time as it gives him the medium and format he thrives in and fully express himself where his real life personality doesn’t allow him on a psychological level.

In the middle of the 1980s, Johnny was going completely broke, but his salvation was just around the corner. It came in the form of a lead role in the TV series 21 Jump Street. Johnny instantly rose to fame and prominence as his undercover cop character became a huge hit with the teen audiences. But instead of enjoying the spotlight and the millions that came with it, he became disgruntled with the recognition attached to being known as a teen idol.

This is where Johnny Depp the mad actor was born. He went on to choosing the roles that moved him farther and farther away from the reality he created for himself that saved him from the materialistic problems of his life. Even though his highly despised role placed him on the right track, he’s perhaps disturbed by the fact that the thing which saved him was the thing he hates and this perhaps led him to creating unhinged storytellers, psychotic lovers and hallucinating writers.

What's Johnny Depp Trying To Say?

Imaginative, chaotic, restless..., the one word to describe the mind of Heath Ledger is perhaps, overdrive. His thought process was constantly on the go trying to figure out what to do next and once figured out, it was constantly on the go to find out how to do it.
He longed to express himself with the aim to take his psyche apart piece by piece and recollect everything into something mind twisting.

His journey of growing into the artist he became, leading up to creating an iconic character like the Joker in The Dark Knight, you can’t help but notice, there’s a strangely intriguing and haunting similarity between Heath Ledger and the Joker he created.

Taking a closer look at his key projects, his first big break was ’10 Things I hate About You’. Following the film’s release, critics and audiences alike were won over by Ledger’s charm at work. But much to his displeasure, he started receiving lead roles similar to what he did in ’10 Things’ as he proved to be so good at it.

This is where the industry found out that Ledger’s not the traditional leading actor they thought he was, turning down all these high profile roles being thrown his way as he despised the idea of repeating himself. Even a single thought of doing what he had already done before, felt like wasting time no matter how much money was being put on the table.

Ledger wanted the thrill, the pleasure and the risk of creating something new every time he worked on a project which led to him taking on the lead role in ‘A Knight’s Tale’, the story of a peasant who poses as a Knight, competing in tournaments and winning accolades while stacking up friendships with historical figures.

A Knight’s tale catapulted Ledger into unanticipated stardom with his face on the posters and the responsibility of promoting the film going from country to country, answering queries in a manner that entices the audiences to go and have a look at the movie. This is where Ledger realized the fame he got, wasn’t really something he wanted.

As he continued to understand his own mind, he continued taking on roles that would extract some unusual performances out of him leading up to the biggest challenge of his life. He took on the role of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain, the story of a man who develops a complex romantic relation with another man. The film became a sleeper hit, stirring up numerous controversies and landing Ledger his very first Oscar nomination.

Perhaps this is where the industry truly understood just what kind of an actor Heath Ledger really was as Rolling Stone gave the following review to his performance “Ledger doesn't just know how Ennis moves, speaks and listens; he knows how he breathes.”

Three projects later, Ledger found out director Christopher Nolan had begun work on The Dark Knight and was looking to cast the next Joker. He immediately called his agent and got himself in the same room with Nolan where he was able to convince the mastermind to hand him over the daunting task of creating something that what exceed what Jack Nicholson had done with his own Joker 20 years ago.

How The Mind Of Heath Ledger Created The Joker

Back in October 2017, Lee had embraced this beautiful relation of friendship, love and understanding with Zara. His misery long gone, his depression locked away and his pain while still there, felt lighter. He went to sleep every night being happy, he woke up every morning feeling optimistic.

On the other hand, Zara had found somebody who believed in her potential to go far and beyond of what a traditional society expects from a woman. She found somebody who could push her into becoming the best version of herself that she can be.

Lee faced a hard time accepting the fact that now his professional and personal life, both were blooming. Everything felt too good to be true, damn near perfect and at the brink of collapsing. The mother of all cliché twists happens…, Lee finds out there’s another guy Zara was attracted to, employed at the same workplace…, Alan.

When Lee and Zara’s relation was taking off, Alan was on vacation. But when he came back, he saw how close Lee and Zara had become and it started to bug him. Zara told Lee to be careful not to interact when Alan’s around as it made him jealous, but Lee couldn’t understand why, because Zara never told him the truth about Alan.

Soon, Lee started noticing the kind of intimate interaction there was between Zara and Alan, but he tried to shove it away as Lee refused to believe that Zara would hide something like this from him. But as days went by, the truth became quite apparent. Lee found out Alan had already extended a marriage proposal to Zara which she was confused about.

Compared to Lee, Alan was lacking intellect, financial status and the will to make it on his own without a supporting figure like Zara. Alan needed Zara to succeed in his life, yet he was very abusive towards her, not appreciating the value she had been adding to his life…, and Zara, even though being verbally abused by Alan every day, kept going back to him again and again.

When all the dots were connected, Lee’s mind went into overdrive and he figured that perhaps Zara was never in love with Lee. She was merely attracted to all the lovable qualities in him which she desperately wanted Alan to develop. He figured that perhaps Alan comes across as more of a human being compared to Lee, as Alan knows how to have fun and live his life. While Lee comes across as more of a robot, shoving himself into so much work to take his mind off from how lonely he felt inside. Because no matter how deep Lee’s connection became with Zara, his pain still continued to live inside of him.

One day, without any discussions, phone calls or mutual understanding, Lee subconsciously began to block Zara out of his life. He would try to speak less to her and avoid any eye contact wherever possible. Things became extremely hard for him, but his mind was adamant on what had to be done.

Once Zara found out what Lee’s mind was doing to him, she asked him to stop it as she started to feel hurt. But Lee couldn’t help it, he just had to detox and lock away all the memories to move on. Upon hearing Lee’s response, a tear rolled down Zara’s cheek and time stopped for a moment.

Lee felt like his detoxing had gone to a halt for a few seconds and he could use this window to ask Zara why she hid the truth from Lee. Zara became clueless, she had no idea her connection with Lee would grow this deep where they can’t see the other one leave.
So Lee made it simple, he asked Zara the simplest of all questions about her abusive relation with Alan. What made her go back to him again and again even though it was making her miserable and depressed?

How Not To Fall In Love - Vol. 2

When The Rock’s initial run in the WWE came to an end, it was when he suffered from his very first knee injury…, and even though he was playing a hero character, the audience had already turned on him and begun chanting what would be a major turning point, Rocky sucks!

He finally came back to live television following months of rehabilitation and after the match in front of the thousands in attendance, The Rock grabbed a microphone, stood in the middle of the ring and addressed every single person in the arena ‘Rocky maybe a lot of things, but sucks isn’t one of them’. It was the moment that The Rock transitioned into a villainous character and about a month later, became the hottest heel in the company.

Before Hollywood, before WWE, Dwayne’s first love…, was football. After being extremely successful, his performance declined due to an injury that stopped him from being the MVP he became.
Being left out from the draft for the team he was playing at the time, Dwayne realized he’s got no choice but to look forward. 

Deciding to try out a career in wrestling, his father discouraged him as he was a wrestler himself and knew what kind of a toll it takes on a man and his family. But Dwayne was adamant on what he wanted. His father finally said yes under the condition that he would train Dwayne himself.

Debuting under the ring name, Rocky Maivia, Dwayne was pushed heavily as a hero character despite of his inexperience in the business. After getting cheated out of his dream of becoming a footballer, things couldn’t have looked worst, the audience turned on him, he got injured and had to take the time off.

When the moment finally came for Dwayne to return, he realized that it wasn’t him that the audience hated. It was him not being himself that the people despised..., and in that moment, Rocky died and The Rock was born.

He went on to embrace all the hate being thrown at him and mold it into something to throw back at the audience and entertain them in a way that ‘The Rocky Sucks’ chants turned entirely into something else and he became one of the top faces of the company alongside the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

He went on to win the heavy weight championship on numerous occasions, headlining countless PPVs, selling millions of dollars of merchandise and cementing his legacy as an unforgettable WWE superstar.

A lot of people would say ‘What more is there for The Rock to accomplish?’ but this is not how his mind worked. After climbing the highest mountain in WWE, it was time for him to climb another mountain somewhere else.

His very first acting job was on ‘That 70s show’ where he played a character of his own father. But it wasn’t until he played a small, but a vital role in The Mummy returns that he found an opening to what would be a record breaker in Hollywood. He played the lead character in The Scorpion King and made 5.5 million dollars which was completely unheard of for an actor playing his very first lead role.

The Rock continued to climb the ladder by playing diverse characters in movies like The Game Plan, Tooth Fairy and Get Smart. Even though these movies were nowhere near groundbreaking, they established The Rock as an actor who’s unafraid in entertaining the audiences by his unpredictable choices alongside his predictable ones but impressive performances with Faster, Gridiron Gang and Fast 5.

By the end of December 2013, Forbes named The Rock as the highest grossing actor of the year with his films bringing in a total of 1.3 billion dollars. Dwayne took his newly found love of filmmaking to the next level with his own production company ‘7 bucks’ which he named after the crisis he faced of not being drafted for the football team he was playing for. At the time, he only had 7 bucks in his pocket and knew only two things, ‘I’m broke and one day, I won’t be’.
