Kittball favourite Paji returns to the German label once more this June for another well-crafted piece of house. Pajwan Faroch aka Paji, born 1986 in Cologne, discovered his passion for music in all its facets already in the age of 5. Since then he has learned playing different traditional instruments but alongside percussions the violin quickly became his favourite instrument. Already as a teenager he discovered his talent for combining different styles of music with each other. The fusion of different musical genres lead to the special Paji sound which is improvised, miscellaneous, individual, different.

In a time when Jazz music is entering a contemporary renaissance and exciting the ears and minds of new audiences, Zombie Zombie's Étienne Jaumet offers us his unique, idiosyncratic take on the sound with the sprawling “8 Regards Obliques”, his 3rd solo album with the Versatile label.

Jazz requires a certain freedom of technique, interpretation and improvisation that already matches Jaumet’s own production style and sonic aesthetic as well as his playful approach towards music.
The eight pieces that make up the new LP were very quickly recorded; Jaumet let himself be carried away by the atmosphere without focusing too much on fine details or the laborious aspects of the composition process.

The finished article is a spontaneous collection that stands out, a true mirror image of the creative process adopted by the artist. Not surprisingly, spontaneity is one of the characteristics already present in his music, in both his recorded output and his live happenings, where he leaves much room for freedom and improvisation.

“8 Regards Obliques” was recorded at the Versatile studio in less than 3 weeks with quite a basic set up: TR 808, selected synthesizers, vocals and of course the saxophone, which is a constant presence also in his previous albums.
For the mix Etienne has again appealed to the maestro I:Cube, a central figure of the Versatile story and a prodigious engineer and artist in his own right. He immediately understood that it was necessary to keep the spontaneous side alive and to not over-produce the pieces or over-edit them, being constantly mindful to retain the power in the sound and in the frequencies.

From Sun Ra with “Nuclear war”, Miles Davis in “Shhh / Peaceful” or “Theme from a symphony” by Ornette Coleman to “Caravan” (already quoted by many jazzmen), Etienne enjoyed revisiting classic masterpieces and paying tribute to his inspirations. He allowed himself only one personal and original composition, “Ma révélation mystique”.

Italian duo Spalamp showcase their fantastically emotional techno with a new EP on ZEHN Records that features a remix from Hannes Bieger.
Standout opener 'Into the Dark' is a spine-tingling affair with celestial keys and whispered vocals making for a truly enthralling deep techno roller. The percussion is stiff and the atmosphere remains sparse yet inviting throughout.
Hannes Bieger's superb version is an eight-minute opus with cosmic synths layered up and reaching for the heavens as rumbling bass builds the pressure below.
The brilliant 'Twin' is the other original and one that gets you in a trance with is delicate synth arps, brooding bass and distant angelic cries. It's emotional and tender techno like you've never heard before.

Point Sole is one of Spain’s most respected underground artists with a melodic style that’s attracted devoted fans including many of his peers such as Edu Imbernon, AFFKT and Coyu who have all released his music on their respective labels.

Not only has Point Sole released tracks on Eklektisch, Sincopat and Suara, but he has also featured on many other respected labels including Metro Dance Records, which is linked to the Alicante based venue Metro Dance Club.

Metro Dance Club is the leading Electronic music venue in the Southern part of Spain and it’s somewhere Point Sole has played on many occasions, so it’s no surprise he has become a staple part of the associated Metro Dance Records.

Now on his second EP of original music for Metro Dance Records, this release features three of Point Sole’s original tracks, alongside a remix from Italian artist Ivan Masa who completes the package.

Ivan Masa has previously worked with high-flying imprints like Einmusika and Stil Vor Talent with this remix being another fine example of his work.

“Existencia” opens the EP with its tribal percussion and hypnotic melody which lifts and drops amidst the building tension of swelling pads that create a mesmerising aura, but it’s the trippy vocals that really add the sparkle to this sensual cut of deep house.

Second is “We Danced Together” which fuses earthy percussion and rainforest sounds to create an atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical jungle. Taking the listener on a journey through an audio landscape filled with exotic wildlife, the dubby pads add a laid-back mood that soothes you throughout the expedition.

Last of the three originals, “Invasion” has an upbeat style with the distorted lead synth contrasting with the smooth textures of the vocal. Ramping up the intensity as it unfolds, the vocal opens to expose short phrases that add to the comeliness of the track’s mysterious vibe.

Closing the release is the remix of "Existencia" by Ivan Masa who lifts the energy of the track with his rework that adds a new melody and extra synths. Epic and filled with a brooding atmosphere, this cut Is overflowing with all the ingredients that make for a perfect dance floor experience.
