I stopped the car, the crosswalk is there for me to stop.
Especially when it's a frail old man crossing.
His legs tremble, in an attempt to accelerate the tiny steps.
And I even doubt he'll make it to the other side,
to any street, to anywhere.
He's short of time in a world made to circulate.
And he shakes his body, trying to wave at me,
to thank me for the patience of my waiting.
And it's getting late, and I'm really going to have to speed up on this trip,
towards a twilight future,
that crosses the road of a god who waits without horning at me,
because my life is the crosswalk of my crossing.

Passadeira

Blueprint for track that became 'Sandycove Milk'.

Inspired by wondrous music by Conin, whose track 'Kitty's Wake' reminded of the rich clay of Joyce's 'Finnegan's Wake'. This track, about the opening pages of Joyce's Ulysses, borrows coffee spoons, forever those of T.S. Eliot, in an effort to add sweet milk...drawn from the milk-well of honeyed Sandycove.  The lyric speaker is, notionally, Stephen Daedalus. For practical purposes, the lyric speaker is James Joyce himself. His aim? To hit Haines for a guinea [a pre-decimal unit of currency] before heading to France on a ferry. Whilst Haines still feels guilty (sheepish) about having fired his pistol at an imaginary cat he thought he saw in the fireplace in the Martello tower in Sandycove (now the Joyce Museum....a sacred...magical place, whose attendant Joyce scholars told me about the Haines' imaginary cat episode....it is all true...yet also dovetails eerily with the first chapter of Ulysses).

The reference to Haines having consumed Absinthe is a narrative fiction, invented to offer an explanation for his dangerous behaviour. No peer reviewed evidence capable of demonstrating Absinthe has hallucinogenic properties, exists, to my knowledge.

Paploviante's done it again with Glitter, an intriguing super funky dance track that upon closer listening, plays with dissonance because each instrument is playing in a different key.  It's not that noticeable at first cause rhythmically it all works perfectly, yet when I jumped in to add a Rhodes track over the top, it was clear that Paul and them music is playing with your ear.  So instead of finding a completely different key as Paul so successfully did, I jumped in with one of the synth fills and had a little fun.  What a great track again from Paul, the Swiss music machine who creates and navigates across so many styles so well.  Paul's got a nasty bass line going as always and did such a marvelous job with the tight guitar, synth and electro backbeats.  I've had the pleasure of jumping into about 20 of Paul's great tracks and send a big thanks over to the Alps for his continuing creations for others to jump on. This track is a remix of a piece that I uploaded in January 2022, which I created using a set of self-imposed limitations. I restricted myself to creating tracks using only one synthesizer, and I only allowed myself to repeat the same loop without expanding it beyond the A section. This was a way for me to find meaning in creating music within a limited workflow and timeframe, as I aimed to upload a new track every day. This experience has allowed me to create music more quickly and efficiently, which I continue to do today using more complex structures consisting of 4-5 sections and utilizing DAW software. Since older tracks tend to get buried on SoundCloud, I came up with the idea of remixing them to create new pieces that I could re-upload. As you can tell, the resulting tracks are much more complex compared to the original versions.  I find it fulfilling to add new interpretations to older works, so I plan on making this a series. I also enlisted the help of my friend Moza for this one. I hope you enjoy it!

Because of the Marshal's popularity in the first installment, we thought a sequel would be fun as he embarks on another daring mission of bringing Old-West law and order to another planet where criminal mischief has broken down the rule of celestial law. Central Galactic Intelligence(CGI)received a frantic call for help that anarchists had taken over a peaceful and prosperous world and needed the Marshal to set things right.  The track begins with him and his crew (Curtis, Seagull, and David)being cleared for takeoff.
A big thank you to Curtis Gremmel(center-left in the mix) for his superb playing, Seagull @farout-music-studio for his visionary and production expertise, and Clara for being the angelic voice of CGI.
