As we check off another year for Steyoyoke Recordings, we would like to thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey and appreciate your continued support. To mark our 6th Anniversary, we invited some of the best producers to create remixes of our favourite Steyoyoke tracks of 2017. The release will feature remixes from Hernan Cattaneo, Audio Junkies, Martin Roth, Simon Doty, Nairo and Township Rebellion. The anniversary vinyl will be showcased and sold at our 6th Anniversary Party at Ritter Butzke in Berlin.

Opening the release is Hernan Cattaneo and Audio Junkies’ take on BLANCAh’s “Talus”. The result is pure energy with playful rhythm, soothed by melodic synths. Reinventing Soul Button’s “Paramour” is Martin Roth, who certainly adds a bit of forthright edge and deeper undertones to the original mix. Next up is Simon Doty and Nairo’s version of Nick Devon’s “Overflow”, which unleashes vivid elements scattered across heavy bass lines. The fourth and last track in this release is Clawz SG and Nick Devon’s “Syndicate” remixed by Township Rebellion. Saturated with explosive attitude, this remix surely won’t let one stand still!

Remember when Jannowitz records released Octopussy EP by BOHO and Maksim Dark early this year? Remember when we already spoiled you with our outstanding remixers Stefan Biniak, Acumen and Justin James? Remember when we promised you that you would hear more from our delicious Octopus? Well, the JAW family KEEPS ITS PROMISES! Octopussy was such a success that we asked completely new faces to join Jannowitz records and play with the Octopussy. And we couldn't believe what happened next. Three of our favourite producers said yes. The headquarter went crazy! The result is nothing less than an entire Octopussy Remix EP touching everything between house and techno - just like the original EP. You are very welcome!Our first remixer need no introduction. Betoko has been a legend for years. There is a lot the London based producer could brag about: releases on Diynamic, Get Physical, Einmusika, Katermukke; shows at almost every club you have ever heard of. Ans still he took the time to deconstruct Octopussy. His remix dripping with bits and details you will recognise from the original and new little add-ons - notably a kick as strong as we like it. Two words to our second remixers: Township Rebellion. Moonootica's Moonbootique, Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, Reiner Zonneveld's Filth On Acid. And now: BOHO's Jannowitz Records?! These two humble guys have stormed the electronic music world within very short time. Their tracks always seeming to tell an epic tale from a far away land. And that is exactly what Township Rebellion did with Octopussy. The synth-melody floating above the 9-minutes-masterpiece makes it sound like something sent from heaven. Our favourite: The break - one of Township rebellion's signature elements. There has to be another way. Stay with me. - These words give us the shivers. And apparently all of our remixers as well.Betoko kept them. Township Rebellion kept them. And our third remixer kept them as well. Kellerkind is our second Stil vor Talent act on this EP. He has been in the business for more than a decade and knows his shit. His housy Octopussy edition surprised us by using a lot of elements from the original but still achieving to sound totally different from the blueprint. Rounding Octopussy Remix EP off with nice vibe and some new killer members of our family.

We are proud and honored to present our very dear friend from Toronto, based DJ Producer, AMBER LONG. 
She has trademarked a sound that is svelte and uniquely hers, performing live for nearly two decades. Going by her own name for vocal productions, she is sought after and supported by big name artists and well-known labels. Her lyrics and voice are well known in the Underground music community.

Long broke into the international DJ scene playing at Ministry of Sound in London (UK) first, followed shortly thereafter with gigs in Qatar, Greece, the Netherlands, Israel, Argentina, the USA, Mexico, and Jamaica. The list of international DJ gigs continues to grow each year. Long has performed live vocals at Ministry of Sound (UK), Bahrein Buenos Aires (ARG), in Amsterdam, (NL) for ADE 2016, 2017 and now 2018, and at various venues throughout all of North America.

She runs Toronto-based label, Modern Agenda, a label that is supported constantly by the big names in the underground electronic scene.

She is also the host of Rogue radio show on FriskyRadio. which airs the second Monday of each month at 5pm, EST.

The title track 'Exceptions' starts out with a powerful beat and has that real signature sound that is Yeröm. Quickly a full bassline is introduced together with metal-like percussions and whispering noises. Once the brass hoots its melody and the violins start screaming the magic of 'Exceptions' is complete. This is a track full with tension, harmony and power. Such wonderful work by Yeröm once again!

PREMIERE: Tony Casanova - Realism (Original Mix) [Radikon]

Regardless of whether they’re releasing house, techno, ambient or more experimental sounds, Pablo Bolívar’s Seven Villas Music label is one that always makes the listener stand up and take note. For their latest, they welcome back Thierry Viti, better known by his stage name of Ercos Blanka. A prodigious talent, Blanka’s sounds have graced renowned imprints such as Kerri Chandler’s Madtech, while this release only re-affirms his status as one to keep an eye on. An 8 track LP, ‘Classic Track’ is a joyous and thoroughly engaging listen throughout.

The beautiful, hushed tones of ‘Old Trick’ get us underway under a barrage of twinkling keys, while ‘36h’ again follows a dream-inducing path that’s never lacking in the atmosphere department. ‘Brigante’ is cut from a similar cloth. Clever percussion lies throughout, but it’s the zippy synth work that really helps this one stick out from the pack. The artist goes deep once again on the wholly magnificent strands of ‘You and Him’. Full of graceful, melodic flourishes, this one plays out like the closing scene to a poignant movie.

The second half of the release sees Blanka adopt a wholly different vibe, as he switches from downtempo to more rugged tropes. The first example of this comes courtesy of ‘Sun Street’, a beguiling track that merges the producer’s knack for more uptempo strands with his obvious appreciation for tune and melody. ‘The Pencil’, complete with its off-kilter sounds, clever guitar licks and Balearic vibes serves up another highlight, before ’Strade’ (complete with drama-fuelled action) hints that the finish line is in site. Culminating cut ‘The Last Track’ is a pertinent reminder of the release’s many quality, perfectly encapsulating the sort of panache and flair with which the album boasts in spades. A highly accomplished and fascinating release, ‘Classic Trick’ is sure to go down a treat amongst connoisseurs of the deeper side of the spectrum.

Thierry Viti was born in Soresina on the 25th of November 1988. Since he was a little child, he gets asleep listening to the song “Zingarella” by Giuseppe Verdi. When he was 7, he received as a gift from the uncle his first guitar and since the beginning he tried to reproduce songs by Fabrizio De André, Battisti and Mina and soon he realized he loved expressing himself throughout music. Once, while rummaging through his father’s room, he found a Pink Floyd forty-five record and he immediately fell in love with this experimental music, which had nothing to do with pop music. From that moment on, he became increasingly curious: he listened to all the forty-five records and also discovered Jazz.
The same uncle who gave him a guitar as a present, watching the boy becoming increasingly interested in music, decided to buy him a professional keyboard for his 10th birthday. The following year he gave him a CD by Kraftwerk and this marked a turning point for the young boy, who became keen on electronic music, listening to all its different kinds.
During the following years Thierry has been collecting the various tools in order to be able to begin to create his own music and his first pieces. That’s the start of his carrier as a record producer.
