This was part of a 5 track MED file I composed in Octamed to make use of a new guitar sample I got and really liked, back in the 90's. I still like the mood and melody of this one, but I find the arrangement too simple and repetitive.

This was part of a 5 track MED file I composed in Octamed to make use of a new guitar sample I got and really liked, back in the 90's.

This was initially composed as a second track for a ZX Spectrum computer game named "Mystical". Finally the game came out with just one track, leaving this one unused. I liked it a lot so when I found the guitar sample I did this version on the Amiga 500. Unfortunately the original ZX track was lost.

Only VST instruments were used (some of which are available for free). The idea was to stay close to the original and use virtual versions of the synths Faltermeyer used. In an interview he stated that the characteristic lead sync sound was a slightly modified factory preset on the JX-8P - I used the excellent (and free) PG8X to do the same. This synth was used for many other sounds as well.
