In a dystopian future a massive multidimensional hypercube appears in the sky. 
The totalitarian government of New Sahara quickly erect a fortress city to contain the alien being for their own gain. All those involved in the construction and maintenance of the city have been tagged with a code to verify that they have not gazed upon the high-dimensional structure. Those that have are eliminated by the New Saharan military with their specialised scan-guns.
However, the hypercube begins telepathically communicating with the populace of the fortress city, sharing visions for a better future of mankind. A rebel group forms to resist the dictatorship, in which they worship the alien known as the Tesseract. Over time, the rebels’ visions become increasingly conflicting, causing the group the splinter into many factions. 
In time, the tension between the factions comes to a boiling point and find themselves in an armed stand-off. The New Saharan military intervenes to suppress the violent unrest. A large-scale bloodbath follows, with the cries of the dying echoing throughout the city. At the end of this brutal symphony, a silent static deafens the air, like that of an interdimensional dial-tone. The Tesseract vanished into the air, leaving behind the remnants of the fortress city and its psychotic populace.
