On Saturday, August 5, 2023, on or about 9:40 p.m., local Chicago time, Michael Goodman, 43 years old, would shoot and kill, Serabi Medina, 9 years old. Goodman was disgruntled children were playing outside and being loud. He would walk up to a group of children and shoot Serabi in the head. Her father witnessed the entire thing and wrestled with Goodman. During the struggle Goodman would be shot in the face. Serabi was taken to the hospital and succumbed to her injuries. Goodman was taken to the hospital and survived. The father was raising Serabi by himself due to the mother, Blanca Miranda, being killed in 2018. Serabi, “Bibi”, was going to become a 4th grade this upcoming school year. Goodman was known to the police. A gofundme has been created and the link is below.
