Johnny Anonymous has been DJ'ing events in and around the Edmonton area for over 8 years now. He has been described as one of the loudest quiet guys you'll ever meet, and his DJ style has been referred as "sneaky". With appearances in clubs like Level 2, Twist Ultra Lounge, The Treasury, Zen Lounge, Edmonton Event Center, and The Y. As well as his performances at music festivals such as Motion Notion, Astral Harvest, Mad Hatter, {EVOL}VE{LOVE}, and Inshala. To be honest, he's even been known to throw down in a farmer's field or two. His musical style could be reflective of his inner duality. Sometimes his sets are very rigid and structured. Other times his sets are more experimental. Taking the audience on a musical journey through multiple genres and tempo. And sometimes, it's a little of both.

"Sweet Birds of Youth": 
Featuring such notable musicians as Joey Burns, co-founder of Calexico, Dustin Boyer (John Cale) and Theo Welch (Barry White), Sweet Birds of Youth is the debut solo album of Richard James Simpson, formerly lead guitarist and vocalist for the band Teardrain (which included bass player and co-songwriter Jill Emery (of such bands as Hole, Mazzy Star and Super Heroines); and bassist for Invisible Chains (featuring musician Carla Bozulich).  

"Sweet Birds of Youth" has been described as a collection of songs that range from sexy and gritty to dreamy and reflective. A very rich and complex sonic palette unfolds in the 18 songs, with an experimental and soulful sound reminiscent of such artist as Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Pixies, P.J. Harvey, Radiohead, Roxy Music and many others. Simpson proves to be capable of re-metabolyzing such a wide range of influences into a consistent personal musical gestalt.  

Formerly credited as Richard James, Richard James Simpson is the brother of the late Rock Halsey from the infamous L.A. punk band Rock Bottom and The Spys (which included Ygarr Ygarrist of Zolar X); and son of actress Renate Huy.  

Joey Burns, of Calexico fame, makes an appearance on the album. He plays hauntingly beautiful cello on the track "You" and contributes to the rich ensemble of vocal harmonies.   

 "Deep Dream": 
Featuring such notable OG punk/rock icons as Jill Emery (Mazzy Star,  Hole); Don Bolles (The Germs); Dustin Boyer (John Cale); Paul Roessler  (The Screamers, Twisted Roots, Nina Hagen); Mark Reback (Vast Asteroid);  Ygarr Ygarrist (Zolar X) and Geza X (Geza X and the Mommymen, The  Deadbeats), Richard James Simpson's sophomore solo album, "Deep Dream,"  offers ferocious,heart-wrenching songs that provide a unique sonic  experience.   

This hypnotic album harks back to such albums as Bowie's "Low" and  "Heroes" incorporating experimental vignettes and songs with  efficacious, hard-hitting tracks reminiscent of such acts as Roxy Music,  Bowie, Pixies and Public Image Ltd. While leaning toward the  experimental side, the songs are fashioned in the Euro-American style  for which Simpson is known: "The Wizard of Oz meets Eno" as the iconic  Geza X once described Simpson.  

The world of "Deep Dream" is set during a time in which humans are at  the precipice of a post-human future - the singularity, in which forces  behind the furtherance of artificial intelligence seek to augment or  outright eliminate humankind. The visceral songs fuse a 21st-century  ultra-violence with a tender and reflective humanity, leading the  listener deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole.  

"Deep Dream" is for those who demand something provocative with taste.  
In addition to entertaining, the album encourages listeners to take a  hard look at how far they are willing to go in order to preserve  themselves when faced with an imminent threat of a dystopian, post-human  paradigm. Will they relinquish their humanity, only to be no more than  pets or bacteria to their immortal overlords, or, are they determined to  remain human?  

Upon viewing the cover of "Deep Dream," we see an image that suggests  the idea of an actual human being from the past staring at us in the  eyes and questioning us about what have we become. Being a child  reinforces the effect, because a child is the most immediate and  spontaneous form of humanity.

In late 2007, Wei-Shen mixed Ministry of Sound’s Housexy Spring 2007 compilation alongside Alan Thompson and toured throughout Australia extensively to promote the compilation.  Then in late 2008, Wei-Shen further solidified his relationship with London-based House imprint Defected by mixing its coveted “Alumbra presents Defected In The House” compilation with Simon Dunmore and Simon Digby.  And mid-last year, his production group Those Usual Suspects and Mobin Master were commissioned to mix Ministry of Sound’s Housexy Autumn 2010 compilation.

This track received rapturous support worldwide, including from the Swedish House Mafia, Bob Sinclar, Erick Morillo, Kaskade and even Armin Van Buuren amongst others, and catapulted Those Usual Suspects into the American music scene after recently debuting at 22 on the US Billboard Dance Charts.  

Now fast track to 2010, these boys continue to showcase their breadth by pushing musical barriers and have unleashed as arsenal of dancefloor monsters at a frenetic pace with no sign of relenting – their discography is testament of this fact. 2xs uses his experiences, life happenings and unique storytelling abilities to weave compelling tales into song.

"Once upon a time, a young and pretty nymph, crossed the course of a majestic river named Cephisus. The water court, while finding the nymph to his taste, decided to hug her and did violence. Nine months later, was born Narcisse, whose the name means "narcosis", falling asleep.

Sixteen years later, the teenager was known to all for his fascinating beauty like no other. But the man who had so much charm categorically refused to be touched by anyone, pushing all loves.

It's even said that a young man more diligent than others, gave him one day to send as a gift, a sword. But Narcisse refused the gift of Aménias and returned it. By despite, the suitor used the weapon to open her chest, which also didn't affect a single second's, the son of Liriopée.

One day, during a deer hunt in the forest with a bunch of friends, the Child was lost. Alone, he began to despair, when suddenly, he heard a rustling:

- "Is there no one here? "He shouted to hide his fear and hope.
- "Yes!" Replied a hidden voice behind the bushes. Echo was then a living nymphs, of flesh and bone. His heart throbbed with love for Narcisse, but following a punishment inflicted by Hera, she could only repeat the sounds heard.

- "Join us! "Hastened to repeat, Echo suddenly went out of his thicket and rushed to embrace the object of his wishes.
- "Hope I'll die before to be yours ! " Exclaimed Narcisse, surprised by so much passion.
- "To be yours! " can only answer the Nymph scorned.

Since that day of despair, Echo is only a shadow of itself. Only his voice still echoes in the mountain gorges.

Winding its way of wandering, the Adolescent came to discover a strange place where no animal had ever left no trace, not even a ray of sunlight had pierced the twilight of this place, which in the centre, a source clear gushed. Suddenly spurred by the thirst, Narcisse leans over the clear water and what does he not see ! A beautiful face as a divine figure appears to him for the first time. So, for the first time his heart was kindled. And the object of his love seemed so respond to his expectations ! Does not he smiled when he smiled? Does he not approached him when his gesture was more forthcoming? But the child does not take long to realize that a thin film of water between him and his love was more redoubtable than the hundreds of miles that sometimes separate the lovers.

For the first time he became permeable to suffering. Then his adventure to the borders of itself could continue. Listening neither hunger nor sleep nor his body, he is only an eye to the deep look. And then there was this wonderful sentence: "My image can not deceive me; I burn myself, and I stir the fire that consumes me ... Am I not the thing I seek ? ". Finally aware that he sees the world is none other than himself, he continued his long crossing of the mirror of water. He tried well to grasp himself, but the fine vision vanished without a word. Some tears rolled down her cheeks, and came to disturb the sensitive surface of the source. His image was troubled. Narcisse then entered in the trouble because his representations of himself vanish in their turn, as fragile as ephemeral illusions.

Downed to the heart of the realm of dead, he looked himself in the Styx, "the hated." And when the nymphs came, according to the rules of the place, preparing his funeral pyre, one last surprise awaited them: in place of the departed soul, they saw bloom a golden flower crowned with white petals, narcissus. Narcisse had finally become himself. "
