With over 45 years performing on stage as a classical singer, in August of 2022 I channelled my music knowledge into composing. This is some of my best work, so far... with so much more to learn, so much more to my story, and so much more music to come.

A song of reflection, that peace comes after a storm and the vastness of space and time can leave us with a sense of awe and wonder of the harshness and beauty of the world, and life itself.

Inspired by the new Arturia Augmented Grand Piano, I love the 'Ice Piano' preset and used this as the main instrument for this song, as well as Augmented Strings 'Dark Skies' and 'Beautiful Swell' and Augmented Voices 'Valleys'. Playing 'Ice Piano' sparked a memory of my time in the snow many years ago, and this was the basis for this song. The beauty, harshness, fun, danger and cold that mother nature provides.

I was commissioned to write, record and produce this music for a Twitch Streamer to be played at the end of every stream as they, an artificial life form, named ALREVE, powers down until the next stream.

I composed most of this on three livestreams which was fun, and at times frustrating, but I am very happy with the result. I continue to learn and use new skills and techniques, especially when using compression, EQ, sidechain and overall mixing.

With no spotting sheet provided, I manually spotted the film prior to using and reusing one motif throughout the cue to highlight the different ways to convey the same melody.

An original instrumental inspired by a challenge set by The Cue Tube  Discord Community to “create a music piece that expresses the feeling of being lost in a dense forest, surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of nature. The piece should have a sense of wonder, awe, and maybe a touch of uncertainty… leaving the listener with a sense of being one with nature.” In a way, a sense of renewal by nature.
