SMZ is a largely self-produced experimental hip-hop artist from Scarborough, Ontario. He creates music that blends production techniques from various electronic music and hip-hop genres, and typically assembles distinct yet cohesive sonic journeys within one song. He also explores vocal elements extensively; employing various singing and rapping styles, often layered upon each other, to achieve his expression.

SMZ's work delves into the nature of the mind and its role in self-determination. He explores the pillars of perception, and re-arranges concepts and symbolisms into a new form of understanding. He believes in the power of the mind to access all the tools of the universe to transcend what we know as "experience", and delve into areas of energy and action beyond the limitations we've collectively applied to ourselves. Through his art, SMZ hopes to provide new vantage points on death and transformation - through filters of chaos and beauty - and relate the experience to an access of unlimited potential within all.

SMZ has been writing and producing music since 2007, and has been performing throughout the city of Toronto since 2014. He often combines high-energy tracks with stripped down acapellas and atmospheric journeys into spoken word. SMZ also explores his expression through videography, and shares his musical journey as 1/2 of The Universal Architects (@universalarchitects) with Oliver Jackson (@oliverjackson). He has a wide range of influences, including: Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Tech N9ne, Massive Attack, Die Antwoord, Lorn, Portishead, Death Grips, M.I.A., The Roots, and Nina Simone. Through these various realms of expression, SMZ aims to engage our collective shared reality and continue to illuminate it for others.

Founded 2011 The Wulffs from Regensburg startet as Punk-project to help them deal with the daily grind of studying and working. Shortly they evolved to a solid band. Dedicated to a strong DIY-attitude they arrange their releases with much love and on their own as far as possible. Even though the Punk-Roots are still perceptible, a distinct mixture of various musical genres found it‘s way into the sound such as Stoner Rock, Post Metal, Shoegaze and traces of New Wave and Garage. Most of the songs are composed within common jam-sessions. Musically, it is important for the band to focus on a well-balanced synergy of melancholy and anger. The lyrics are mainly an addition to that and revaluate the songs with themes such as transcendency, social criticism and nature. 
Now, after having released their first two EPs Medusas Eyes (2013) and Fuck The Wulffs (2014), the punk-combo from Regensburg (GER) takes the logical and next step by putting out their first longplayer How To Join A Nameless Cult (2015). On this album the recipient is confronted with a raw and multifaceted acoustic pattern, emphasized by melancholic lyrics and put into action by four distinct characters. THE WULFFS meet under the dying sun of current ruling systems and their music lurks in the rain-soaked alleyways of your city. Soon the streetlights will quit their service as candlelight will be the only remaining source of light. The Gang becomes a Cult. For friends of old Queenst Of The Stone Age, Terrible Feelings, Joy Division, Red Dons together with Turbonegro and other current trends of alternative music from Scandinavia.

We are passionate musicians with over 40 years combined experience playing, composing, recording, mixing and mastering music. We take pride in our work and consider each project a new and exciting challenge, carefully crafting an experience that is best for both you and your audience. Drawing inspiration from a variety of musical genres and using a wide palette of digital and analog sounds and techniques, our compositions are unique, yet familiar, instantly drawing an emotional connection to the listener. Mixed and mastered to industry standards, tracks are seamlessly blended to bring a distinct sense of realism, allowing listeners to feel as though they are right in the action.

For Premonition-Factory mastermind Sjaak Overgaauw, staying true to the emotional resonance and sonic foundations of the ambient genre has always been essential. At the same time, merely paying homage has never been enough for him. Over the course of four albums within two years, he has come ever closer to carving out a distinct style of his own, fusing the sound of legends like Brian Eno and Steve Roach with an uncompromising live approach: Overgaauw’s releases are invariably culled from long sessions recorded over the course of several months, which are later evaluated and edited. As such, each album contains the essence of up to twenty hours of material, with individual tracks representing snapshots of extensive improvisations.

Considering his love for Krautrock and the work of David Sylvian, it should seem only apt that Premonition Factory places great importance on hardware and physical performance. It is a philosophy which has turned Overgaauw’s gigs into far more captivating experiences than the somewhat safe software routines of some of his colleagues and which he puts into practise by creating textures and themes a few days ahead of the gig, rehearsing with them to create a sense of shape and direction and then abandoning them to leave enough freedom for improvisation during the actual performance. One of the best opportunities to see this philosophy in action is the Antwerp Ambient event, organised by Overgaauw himself at his home town Antwerp most prestigious live space, Luchtbal.

The freshness of his stage appearances has colored off on the studio material: On his latest full-length The Theory of Nothing, external influences are disappearing behind an increasingly minimal approach, with pieces opening up expansive spaces and lingering in the mould between dream and reality. Premonition Factory is becoming more intense and quiet at the same time – which may seem like a contradiction, but is the logical consequence of Overgaauw’s love for an element all too often neglected in music – silence: “The most beautiful moment during live concerts is the fade out: once you’ve reached silence, the silence becomes part of the performance. And that’s an incredible feeling.”

Bio Jamez:

Dutch producer Jamez has had a hand in more good records than most of us have had hot dinners. Apart from the by-no-means trifling matter of co-producing  house record – 51 Days’ ‘Paper Moon’ – he’s also been at the birth of the Trancesetters, the splendidly-named Tata Box Inhibitors, P.I.M.P., Loophole, Amfibian, Mindfunk and an ever-expanding list of inventively-spelt production credits. You’d wonder, looking at the fellow’s discography, whether he ever got any kip (we’ve been assured by his family that he does).

Jamez, for those that haven’t been paying attention, was part of a Dutch triumvirate – the other two being Dobre and DJ Zki – that helped transform European house music in the early 90s. Working closely with Dutch outfit Touché Records, they produced a series of consistently great singles of wildly differing styles ranging from the jazzy (Jamshed), deep (51 Days) and the acclaimed harder style of Tata Box Inhibitors and Trancesetters. While most UK DJ's looked to the US for new records, oddly, lots of American DJs – Danny Tenaglia being a particular fan – championed this new European style (Underworld’s Darren Emerson was also an early supporter of Touché’s releases).

Like many a young European, Jamez was turned on to dance music via the burgeoning rap scene of the eighties, before hooking up with Dobre who, as luck would have it, had a small home-studio. Experiments in dance ensued. A meeting with DJ Zki at a radio station completed the Three Musketeers’ line-up. Early releases came out through fellow countryman Robin ‘Jaydee’ Albers’ First Impressions label, but it was through Touché Records – started with Dobre – that Jamez and his cohorts gained international recognition.
Both 51 Days’ mournful ‘Paper Moon’ and Trancesetters’ heavy-hitting ‘The Search’ were massive New York club hits. Plenty of others were staples in DJs’ boxes around the world, probably because Jamez has mastered the art of syncopated and punchy beats, mellifluous keyboards and catchy hooks. Soulful dance music, in other words. As a remixer, Jamez is no slouch, either, having turned in superb mixes of Paperclip People’s ‘The Climax’, X-Press 2’s strident ‘The Sound’, Humate's 'Choose Life' and a stunning rerub of Der Dritte Raum’s ‘Alienoid’, transforming it into a hypnotically textural house cut. The list goes on and on.

After more than 100 releases on world class labels, numerous remixes and many appearances on compilations, he definetly put his mark down.

As a DJ he also did his part. Flying from one city to the other, keeping the crowds shouting for more. His mix of techno and tech house takes the listener on a journey through unknown territories, well known hights and deep smooth plains.

After a well deserved sabbatical Jamez returned to the scene in 2008, where he hooked up with Soulboy. In the summer of 2009 Christian Smith (Smith & Selway) did a remix for Trancesetters 'The Search'. The track had big support from Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela, John Digweed and Adam Beyer. Together with Soulboy, they produced the track Surface Tension, which was in 2009 Kevin Saunderson's summers favourite and was frequently heard on Ibiza Global Radio. Not only he is frequently asked for remixes but 2010 will be the year of launching his own label Repressure Recordings together with Soulboy and his management team A&G Agency.
In 2012 Jamez left Repressure to focus all his attention on his label Rough Cut Records. The sister label of Touché records which he started in 1995. Aim of the label is to try to be a bit different then everyone else. A mixture between all electronic music styles is possible.

Arguably the world’s most sought after Stevie Nicks tribute artist, Julie C Myers has travelled the globe riveting audiences with her performances as “Nearly Nicks” for over 10 years. However, the art of doppelganging is only one of this Memphis native’s many talents. Julie is a vocal powerhouse, trained gymnast, former Play Boy “Girl of Rock ‘n Roll”, and professional dancer. After years of performing as the premiere Stevie Nicks tribute artist, Myers is now blending her contagious energy, raspy rock vocals and southern charm together into an album of her own. 

“My mother was a classmate of Elvis Presley, and growing up in Memphis, music was always a big part of my life” says Julie, who grew up surrounded by a melange of classic rock, blues and country music. The southern songstress followed her true passion for performing, training in jazz, interpretive, tap and ballet dance while pursuing a collegiate drama degree. Then, in her 20s Julie began performing on stages and at theme parks in her home state of Tennessee. Julie’s background in the arts coupled with her spitfire vocals began captivating audiences from the moment she took the stage. Not willing to let her dreams pass her by, Myers moved to Vegas where she began singing and dancing in shows like “My Generation”, “Legends in Concert” and “Melinda, First Lady of Magic”, exposing listeners from all over the world to her action-packed, rock ‘n roll inspired live performances.

With a distinct and powerful gravelly voice, luscious blonde hair and a vivacious mystical energy about her, audiences around the globe have been mistaking Julie for the rock star legend Stevie Nicks for years. Julie’s “eureka” moment came the first time she was visiting New York City and was chased down Time Square by rabid Stevie Nicks fans. It was then that the Stevie look-a-like found her “Nicks niche”, so to speak. Julie sought out world renowned musicians for her backing band and created an ethereal “steampunk” inspired set to accompany her as she began performing as “Nearly Nicks”. From casinos to symphony centers, Julie continues to sell out venues and leave audiences young and old in awe. The tunesmith, now inspired by her successes and the avid fans who return to her shows night after night, just finished recording an album of her own with industry veteran and producer Dan Hodges. “I’m well known for my tribute to Stevie Nicks, but this album is just me” says the raspy rocker. “I’m a bit more country than Stevie is. Being a southern girl, I know I walk the line between country, rock and blues.” Myers’ lyrics tell the stories of solid relationships that endure both the highs and lows of life, as she has. Tempered by tough times that included losing a boyfriend to a bad drug overdose and suffering from PTSD after the tragic death of her brother in a car crash, Julie knows that relationships with loved ones carry us through hardships. “Some of us have moved on from challenging experiences or bad relationships and we are ready for things to come together in our lives,” Julie explains, “new beginnings after difficult times are something to celebrate.”
