Manu Ela, artista y productora chilena, nos comparte desde Berlin un set inspirado en la mujer, en la belleza de sus cuerpos, de sus voces y de la energía fertil que nos ha traído a cada uno de nosotros a esta tierra mágica y abundante y lugar en donde mujeres de diversas partes del mundo se han reunido para elevar su voz y tomadas de las manos, construir un movimiento en donde se baila sin ropa, sin morbo y sin prejuicio, en donde la unión, los colores y el brillo son la clave del entendimiento y la conciencia para recuperar la fertilidad que nos hace imparables.

Un set con raíces en el hip hop, el soul y ritmos que activen las caderas, como soundtrack para celebrar la Revolución, la que viene desde adentro.

In 2010 my son and I suffered the sudden loss of his mother, my wife- my soulmate, my whole life, Nicola.... a most remarkable, talented, warm, and gorgeous woman who was central to both our lives. And even though the universe called time on our little family brutally early, all focus shifted to my son and to a life beyond working as a full-time DJ.                                .                       12 long years went by before I began to listen to music actively again. The trauma from losing Nic so suddenly was extreme and resulted in my lifelong connection with music being broken completely. This is the first mix recorded after that long break, in Bali in 2022, and I thought I would share it with you all as a tribute to Nicola.                                                                                 RIP Nic..... You are missed every day, and will always be loved, cherished, and remembered with joy. Xo

Abends wird’s früh Dunkel // Die Blätter fallen von den Bäumen // Die Schatten werden länger. Wird mal wieder Zeit für ein Ambient-Set beim Elektro Uwe … für die gemütlichen Stunden zuhause. Und weil ich Thom’s Sound so liebe hab ich ihn auch gleich gefragt ob er mir nicht einen zweiten Teil für meine Serie beisteuert. Und gefühlt am übernächsten Tag hatte ich schon die erste Version im Posteingang haha … gut es ist dann die zweite Version geworden … aber einfach mal wieder umwerfend was er da so bastelt. Daheim ist es doch am schönsten … das finde ich auch Thom. 

So meine liebe Hörer dann mach euch mal eine schöne Tasse Tee und kuschelt euch mit eurer Katze aufs Sofa … oder geht im schönen Herbstwald spazieren.

We’re proud to announce that Dubmission starts a new monthly show this week. Alongside an hour-long mix by Mike from Pitch Black will be another hour from a different label artist every session. For the first show, South Korean, cunningly named mcthfg has stepped up to the plate with a 60 mins journey into beats and bass.

Changwon based artist mcthfg, AKA Christopher Wing, has created noteworthy ambient & dub work for Dubmission Records (UK), Substream (Sweden), and Mindspring Music (USA). In his spare time his Rami Brewing Company makes some of the best beer in South Korea.

Pitch Black are Michael Hodgson and Paddy Free. Having pumped their way through New Zealand’s electronic music scene since their inaugural performance at The Gathering New Year’s Eve festival in 1996, they have spent the subsequent years rousing dance floor punters, generating rave reviews, winning awards and gaining thousands of fans across the world for their dub drenched electronica.
Hard to box into a single audio ‘genre’, Pitch Black is a combination of musical journeys. Their sound is distinctive; ranging from organic ambient beginnings and layered soundscapes to skanking keyboards, cutting acid riffs and thumping rhythmic grooves, with dub being the glue that holds their sound together. One critic has described them as like “Orbital meets King Tubby, or Rhythm and Sound in Technicolor”.

It is their live show that really makes Pitch Black stand out from the rest of the crowd, both sonically and visually. Their tracks take on an added dynamism and their performances reveal the dialectic behind the band – Paddy wants to do it for the crowd, Michael wants to do it to the crowd. Visually they are in another dimension thanks to Michael’s cutting edge visuals.

They have toured the world relentlessly, playing everywhere from Amsterdam to Zagreb and the streets of Las Vegas to the Australian outback, supporting acts such as Coldcut, Skream, Easy Dub All Stars and System 7 along the way.

Dubmission Records have blazed a trail of warped woofers since the mid 90’s, when they launched with a trio of bass heavy dubwise compilations.
