Lalitha Sahasranam or the 1000 names of the Divine Mother is said to have been composed by the 8 Vaag Devathas (Divine Goddesses), extolling all the attributes and virtues of the Universal Mother. This hymn was revealed to the great sage Agasthya at the Lalitha Parameswari Temple in Thirumeeyeechur, Tamil Nadu, India.
