Very deep and ominous sound, stellar guitar work

I'm not a fan of these holidays. 
So it was kind of an accident to come across this poem by Henry Wadsworth LONGFELLOW (1807 - 1882) on the Internet Archive (public domain). It's read, I believe, by Annie Coleman Rothenberg.
This inspired me to do a deconstruction of the typical christmas jingle standard. It's kind of shoegazish, I think, and I'm not sure how or why this ended up sounding how it is. 
I guess it's Christmas music by a person who's not big on Christmas.

Intrumentation: Fender Telecaster and Jaguar guitars, Sire electric bass, transverse flute, framedrum, brass castanets, tambourine.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

No real story behind this track. 
I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
The lead synth sounds were created and played on guitar!

Gravity’s Edge

10 years ago, on February 22th 2014, Leo Vroman died at the age of 98, a Dutch poet and scientist (known for the Vroman effect), living in Forth Worth (Texas). A most wise and talented man, born in 1915 in Gouda, near to the city I live in. As a poet he is widely known for four lines:

Come tonight with tales /  how the war has disappeared /  and repeat them a hundred times /  all times I will weep

These lines are part of the poem ‘Peace’ he published a few years after WWII. He fled The Netherlands for the Nazi's and saw his fiancé only back after the war in America (surviving a Japanese camp during te war).

When he died, I recorded this song of the first three verses of his poem, using the well-known last lines as the chorus. I mixed it again (better understanding mixing now) and I'm still impressed by the power of his poem and its timeless message.

[rough translation]
PEACE
Comes a dove of hundred pounds,
an olive tree in its claws,
near to my ears with his mouth
full of sweet corn women,
full of cooing stories
how the war is gone
and repeats them hundred times:
All times I will weep

Since I so unexpectedly
jumped into a taxi

I think there are distractions in daily living that mask/distort the simplicity of being happy/satisfied/productive. To me reaffirming the connection to the natural world can bring perspective to our lives,,help us understand the timeline of our existence and cope with mortality in such a way that the petty anger/hate/destruction we see around us now can be eliminated

Glass Eyes for Ears

This song is dedicated to my first high school music teacher and where I more or less learned to play the flute and I dedicate it to him in memory of so many years of teaching! It's a very simple song but for me it's a tribute to all the years that have passed and it was a golden era! To tell the truth, he was the one who introduced me to music! The instruments used for this song are as follows! Minimoog synthesizer and sorpano flute! and the percussion came from EMULATOR III, which was quite difficult to program but gave good results!

Cantore

Artist Sunyata and Chris O’Shea have played together as a Guitar Duet based in Cairns, Tropical North Qld Australia since 2019. 
Perhaps easier to class their approach to music as Modern Jazz Instrumentalists for simplicity sake, with the obvious love of impromptu guitar improvisation and experimentation.

The duo have equal interest in preconcieved and elaborate contemporary and traditional styles and approaches toward composition. 

With extra instrumentation, piano, percussion and ensemble works are scored out in entirety by Sunyata. Then the overlayed of improvisation, if needed, with any final studio production completed by Chris. Many works  are ‘one off’ live shots recorded on the spot on our weekly morning music day, and then presented here, as they were ‘made’ on the day! 

Sunyata’s attitude is that he and Chris are two Artists working together, and invention and freedom is their credos!
