ACE THE BAND INTRO

Danyal, Talal And Abdullah first started plotting their musical careers back in 2003 – influenced by diverse profile of musicians.

ACE describes their music as diverse and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. “Our music is about meaningful stories, we never choose a song that we can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. Our music will always reflect who we are.” 

All three share passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly could be.

WE already knew we were onto something special. "We were determined to do it from the start," Says Danyal after Receiving Awards as the Best underground Band of Karachi by The Musik Channel at a Private Battle of the Bands in 2008. Their onwards our Journey started. 

The band has a few audios and a video's of their songs "Na Rahey, Raja Rani , Jo Huwa So Huwa & Main tera Nahi''' released so far, and hopefully alot of other stuff in the making.

The whole journey from Garage Jams to being as a Main artist for a concert has been worthwhile. We know how much we have struggled as musicians and come such a long way. We have seen the good and the bad, the sweet and the sour, the fans and the haters but we can proudly say That we as ACE our Here to Rock the world no matter what comes ahead and we will continue to improve and make our worth in Pakistan. ACE The Band Music:

ACE’s sound primarily falls in the pop/soft rock genre. Playing along the lines of Latin-acoustic guitars; the main emphasis of their music is on the melodies and the lyrical content. Keeping their songs melodious and catchy at the same time the band believes that music is truly the world’s universal language capable of bringing our hearts and souls together. A well composed song, personified with honest and heart felt lyrics and spirited rhythms, will eventually be heard by manifestations of emotions expressed in an energetic and harmonious manner. Fueled by the desire to freshen up the pop/rock genre in Pakistan these qualities give ACE’s music a very high degree of accessibility both in terms of composition and lyrics.

ACE The Band - History (Biography)

ACE was formed in Karachi in 2003. When M.Talal Ahmed &Danyal perveiz composed their first song by the name of “Raja Rani” soon after, began Their search for like minded musicians to complete Their band.Some time later Talal heard Abdullah singing in a local college music competition, Talal ran into Abdullah Aziz - A Vocalist and after a few jamming sessions he invited Abdullah Aziz to join Ace,and to do vocals for the song “Raja Rani”. ACE’s first single “Raja Rani” was released in Sep 2003. Before the release of its video “Raja Rani” was released on the internet through a local Pakistani web portal. The song enjoyed the status of the most downloaded Pakistani song on the internet for quite some time and was extensively popular by the time the video was released In 2014.

Abdullah Aziz - Vocal

His vocal chants the emotions, sentiments and feelings required of a song. He is a complete entertainer and musical genius. He has been in the industry for more than 6 years and has composed songs for numerous upcoming artists. To his profile, there is a whole collection of songs which have been written and composed by himself including the hit “Naa Rahey”

His Influences are in particular Junoon, Rahat fateh ali khan, U2, Police, Maroon 5 etc.

Danyal Perveiz - Lead Guitarist

Danyal is the mastermind behind ACE. Has been into the underground music circuit since 2004 and has had other successful projects like the “Cheapmunks”. He is a learned and a professional guitarist. He has the skills to compose a song, write the lyrical content and along with that keep the melody intact with his guitars. He has the passion to succeed and grow through the journey of music.His influences can be generated by the genre of progressive rock.

Mohammad Talal Ahmed - Bassist

Inspired by brilliant bassists like Jaco Pastorious, Bryan Collins, Billy Sheehan, Stuart Harm, Noel Benjamin and B.B King; M.Talal Ahmed is a God gifted bassist. He started off strumming and experimenting with different tunes on his Cousin’s guitar while still a teenager. His thrust to improve led him to get formal training to play bass guitar.

Talal has been there with Danyal from the beginning when Ace was formed. Talal is a very a dedicated musician and eager to learn as he progresses. He has the skills to compose a song, write the lyrical content & Melody. He takes care of the entire internet activity & is the ACE’s PR Agent too. Other than that He has passion for sound recording as well. He is the sound engineer of Ace, and he's responsible for getting ­every subtle tweak of voice and instrument Record in a balanced way.

It wasn’t until 1998 that Talal stepped into the Karachi underground music scene professionally. He first collaborated with an underground band by the name of “Cymbal” , during this time he played in a number of underground gigs and local concerts playing bass. However after two years in 2000 Talal parted ways with Cymbal and joined “Dhuaan”. Along with danyal.  Talal played with Dhuaan for three years and by 2003 he started playing as a session player for various underground acts during the one and a half years he played as a session player for various artists and collaborated with Dhuaan’s band exposed to Talal to the rock-band communities of Pakistan. Talal’s diverse musical sense and his ability to adapt to different kinds of musical owes to the diverse variety of musical styles from which he draws inspiration; from local acts like Vital Signs, Awaz, Junoon, Meekal Hassan Band ,Call , Enitity Paradigm , karavan, mauj, Ali Azmat , Qayaas & Fuzon to International bands like Metallica, Creed, Led Zeppelin, Foo fighter's, LInkin Park,Nirvana,3 Doors Down,Audioslave, and Weather Report; He has always been an avid listener.
Talal has strived hard through countless hours teaching himself not only how to playing the guitar, but to compose, write songs and sing.
His influences are bands from everywhere but mainly Pakistani music of progressive rock genre.

“Naa Rahey” First Music Video Release from ACE.

‘Na Rahey’, the original song revolves around the concept of a dejected, soul-searching man, who having faced tiresome tribulations in life questions fate and seeks answers. The song was composed by Bands lead vocalist Abdullah Aziz back in 2006. The song starts off with a crisp guitar strum followed by the bass and drums adding depth to the song. 

The mesmerizing vocals of Abdullah Aziz makes you connect to the song. The music is simple and leaves that mark in your heart of listening to it again. The dark feel remains there throughout the song but the guitars played by Danyal Pervaiz have added emotions to the song.

''Choro Ko pey gayein Mor'' [ Jo huwa So Huwa]

Derived from an Urdu idiom which in literal term means “The smartest was made fool”. 

The band decided to connect our local scenario with what global leaders are trying to do with Pakistan. The connection in the song is simply made by stating that Everyone in this country is being made fool though they think they are being smart! So its time to open your eyes and bring a revolution.

Agoeng Zen is one of the senior in Indonesian Dj’ing circuit. He started playing as a resident in 5 star hotels in Bali in the early 2000. By the mid 2000 he played throughout Bali, moving out of the hotel scene to the clubs around Kuta and Seminyak. Even though that club played different kind of music, he still moves the crowd every week. In 2004 he started in Liquid bar (Bali) where he impress the crowd at the grand opening. Double six, Paparazzi and Mbargo (all in Bali) are next where he played continuously for two and a half years, more than ten hours a day!! at each club respectively.
He pioneered in introducing elektro house in Bali at club Double six,
at the same time he started playing new and different kind of song every week. Those days, Djs in Indonesia mostly still play progressive tribal music week in, week out. He teaches the masses to understand the new genre. It wasn’t an easy journey. It took him more than a year to make the masses understand and learned it as the progressive house played every day and it gets a little tiresome. The fight bears fruit as elektro are now played by so many big name Djs in Indonesia such as Romy 1945 mf, Dj Naro and many
more.
The Zen’s invasion to the rest of Indonesia started in Jogja, Bandung and Jakarta. In Bandung he wows the crowd so much and was asked by Elektra 666 to join them on the spot. At the time he was still a resident at Double six, Paparazzi and Mbargo, which are the busiest clubs in Bali. After joining them, he played for a lot of big events all over the country as Elektra 666’s artist until the present date.
In his time, he played alongside many top international Dj including Pete Tong (UK), Lisa Lashes (UK), Armand Van Helden (US), Bodyrockers, Kaz James & Dylan Burns (AU), Marco Polo (Italy), Kevin Shiu (Canada), Petrae Foy (Germany), Danny Howell (US) and many more. At one time, Jim Breese (Hed Kandi, UK) was his partner as a resident DJ in club Double six. He appeared as a regular guest Dj in clubs such as Dragonfly, Embassy, Centro, The Rain (Jakarta), Vertical Six, Hugos (Surabaya), Amare, Kyooki (Bandung), Hugos, and Liquid (Jogja).
The Zen is very different from his name, not the all peace and quiet state but rocking everywhere he play.

Leaving A Legacy For Future Generations

It’s the year 2027 and a young child has stumbled upon an old iPod in his grandmother’s attic. On the antiquated device, the child finds the Lo-Fi music and sound-scapes of a band called Neutral Drop. The tracks have been preserved forever in digital format, but they contain a style and sound he’s never quite experienced before. This music is different. The music is unedited, unpolished and it is “perfect imperfection.” It’s in this moment in time that the child’s musical life changes forever. It seems a true musical legacy has been left behind for another generation to discover! The young musician has suddenly discovered what music was, and it was meant to be – a real and raw artistic experience. Creating this sort of legacy is the goal of Mike Wilson and Neutral Drop. In fact, this “futuristic” look at a young child discovering musical treasure is very much the way Mike Wilson discovered music himself. As you will see, it was with a similar event like this that the very seeds of Neutral Drop were planted.

Windy City Beginnings: The Big Bang

Neutral Drop creator Mike Wilson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois - “The Windy City.” On these winds came serendipity and chance musical encounters. Just as the child in our story above, it would be around age eight when Mike would happen upon old Beatles albums and discover another band’s legacy. It was discovering the sounds and styles on dusty old vinyl albums packed away in storage that sent Mike Wilson down the path toward a musical future. To this day, these “Windy City Beginnings” are the “Big Bang” that has led this talented songwriter and guitarist to create Neutral Drop!

Before Neutral Drop

Many things had to occur before Neutral Drop could be born. Mike had to develop as a musician, as a songwriter, and gain experience playing in bands. It was at the age of sixteen that Mike picked up the guitar as his instrument of choice. Without any formal training, he quickly became better not only at playing guitar, but also in his songwriting skills. It was in his teen years that Mike began working at record stores where he could feed his wide interest in musical masters of the past and his love of record collecting. Mike’s musical heroes were not just artists; he became interested in the techniques and history of recording itself! Wilson became enthralled with talents Les Paul and his work in multi-track recording, phasing, and delay effects. Also Mike studied the history and methods of recording processes starting with Edison himself. 

After developing as a musician and as a songwriter, Mike still needed to get the experience of performing and playing with a band. This would happen in 1994 when Mike joined Haegers Bend. Haegers Bend had recently been started by his brother Paul and the band was already very successful in Chicago. Haegers Bend was a perfect fit for Mike and his guitar skills. However, as Mike continued to write music, it soon became apparent that some of his material wouldn’t fit into the Haegers Bend sound. This led to an epiphany for Mike and another project was born in 2000 – Neutral Drop.

The Birth of Neutral Drop

If there was a project that is all Mike Wilson, from start to finish, Neutral Drop is that project. Neutral Drop is a Lo-Fi project that began seven years ago after a series of late night recordings. Mike had written a large collection of songs that didn’t fit into the sounds and style of Haegers Bend. Mike realized that there should be life given to these songs, and what transpired was the first self-titled Neutral Drop album. After the success of that release, Mike followed with a second release, Falling. Both CDs were mainly instrumental and contained the eclectic mixture of Lo-Fi recordings of rock, folk, industrial, sound-scapes that define Neutral Drop’s sound. The albums yielded what Wilson’s goal was in the beginning; to create a moody, authentic and raw Lo-Fi experience. The latest release from Neutral Drop is Lost Love and Broken Dreams. It’s within this latest release that Wilson has added more lyrical content and vocals. This, the third CD since the birth of Neutral Drop, is perhaps the best example of the creative and artistic genius of Wilson. Exploring his own past, he captured his experiences within the Goth scene he had been into at the time - generating covers from such artists as The Cure and Joy Division. Neutral Drop and Lost Love and Broken Dreams define Mike Wilson and it is Wilson from the top down as he played, produced and composed the entire album.

What’s Next For Mike Wilson?

While Wilson continues to actively perform and work with Haegers Bend … there are more exciting things planned for this artist, husband and father. While he is the heart and soul of Neutral Drop at the present, he seeks band members that fit into the project’s style. Not only do both of his current musical projects continue to grow and have a bright future, but he pushes the limits of his own creativity, ingenuity and artistic expression everyday. He has avidly begun to express interest in filmmaking. It’s a good bet that you will soon see film projects from Wilson. It’s not easy to overdub the past and phrase the future, but Mike Wilson and Neutral Drop will continue to do just that, and leave a legacy for future generations.
