The Medicine Bell is farm fresh Northern Michigan acoustic music at its finest. There's a quiet valley full of real folks settled in around the village of Rapid City -- where life is easy, but a livin' is hard. Rooted deep there in the Valley are songwriting partners Bree Saunders & Ashley Christopher, who sing together like two kids who've been playin' in the same sandbox since before they could remember. With Bree on guitar, Ash has chosen to travel this old dusty road with banjo in hand, and together they ride with The Bell's three well-versed instrumentalists. Bio-Synchronous Cloud Commander Matty Z conjures grassy jam jazz on mandolin, backed by the cleanly stated upright bass of North Country hermit-mystic Dr. Dale Owen, and the Workingman's Drums of MacKenzie Vance. It's a new blend of traditional and Americana influences that meanders from the hallowed sounds of olden times to the pointed verse of contemporary folk heroes, from the intimacy of the lone songwriter to the echoes of the Long Strange Trip. Nellie Bell grew up in Australia but her family’s roots lie off the coast of North Africa on the small island of Malta. The mixture of influences that create that island’s culture also informs Nellie’s music. She loves to make music that communicates quickly, is accessible and melodic, but her songs  also display a remarkable originality, an unexpected tendency to take the listener down new and exotic pathways. Nellie is a composer and an accomplished pianist and singer.

“I write music to heal myself. Sometimes I have painful experiences that make me write to express my truth. It’s what lies deep deep down inside that I find hard to get out into words when I speak. Through music, I channel something that makes me feel happy and brings my spark back! I also write a lot about love and what it means, and how there are so many layers to it and so many different kinds of love. I also realise now that I write about love to help me love myself more.”

Nellie’s focus has been on composing and recording her music, but she has also been exploring new ways to manage the business side of things as the music industry shifts and narrows, as well developing new ways of working so that doing good business is good business.

Earlier this year, Nellie worked with her team to innovate a new business model to raise private investment, enabling her to record, mix and master her album on her own terms. She set up Nellie Bell Ltd, a company which will enable her to make and share music her way.  The company structure allows her to retain publishing and recording rights and have more control over how she develops her career.  And, by integrating her three passions of music, young people and empowering women, she is building a new kind of company where people, profit and place have equal standing. 
 
As well as composing and performing, Nellie has 13 years’ experience working with young people in schools and informal settings.  Nellie aims to nurture emerging talent as well as support young people and the wider community to reach their full potential. She is exploring a number of initiatives and partnerships to assess how best to invest in activities that will do both, within the business and community setting, ensuring there are pathways and connections throughout. Originally, Stephen dealt mainly with dub plates when coming to Jamaica, especially since he loves reggae music from an early age and could not imagine a life without reggae. After meeting artistes such as White Mice, Little Mice and John Jr and General Grindsman, as he is especially keen to mention, he decided to take them on tour to the UK and as a result became more and more involved with the Jamaican music scene.

His business partner in Jamaica is orion fire flamez wilson from Port Antonio, Portland. They know each other for 7 years and have decided since to combine their efforts as well as links to form “YardBritish music network & management.flamez is a very humble person. multi talented artist & engineer,flamez is the #1 engineer at yardbritish music.a man who contribute's so much into all working's at yardbritish,infact the inspiration behind yardbritish was flamez belief in our idea.from day 1, Originally, this company was set up not for money but rather for the sheer love of music but it eventually grew and became important to many young artistes in the Portland area. Stephen and flamez started with music production in 2005 and since 2005 they decided to manage young artistes with Stephen dealing with business in Europe and flamez in Jamaica. The young camp of YardBritish includes artistes such as princess nakita,cj ceejay,mam ma son,gypsy,selena,tu-qute,flamez,abraham silk,polkadat,potenkle i. , who are all on their way to become professional international reggae artistes.

Stephen Browne has many plans for the future and YardBritish family is set to grow even bigger and strengthen the bond between Jamaica, England and Africa u.s.a canada.asia. The stage show YardBritish music, which was held for the first time in 2005 in Port Antonio is set to become an annual event with a show in Jamaica and another one in the UK. Furthermore it is a dream of Stephen to carry reggae to Africa and produce music and artistes across the continent. He plans to take the music to Africa, open up music to the masses, and take the message from Jamaica directly to the people, since the big market Africa offers is still largely ignored, especially when it comes to music distribution, production and shows by international acts. Being partly of African descent it is very close to Stephen’s heart to connect his English and African heritage with his love for Jamaica and Jamaican music. In order to include the Africa connection in the future, he is first of all working on a solid base in the liverpool UK and ocho rios Jamaica and further the cultural and musical exchange between the black Diaspora in the UK and the Caribbean. He has already started the fundraising to brink young UK acts to Jamaica by keeping regular events around the world. Another major concern of Stephen is the support of young and upcoming artistes. Together with his business partner he has started to fulfill his dream of opening our very own studio., again, one in Jamaica and one in Liverpool, England by the year 2011. In fact, the latter heard her during a karaoke show at Ocho Rios' H2O nightclub recently and joined her for a few encores that had the crowd trying to decipher the voices.

The makings of such star quality has existed ever since the former St Hilda's High graduate belted the notes of Midnight Cry at church as a grade four student at Ewarton Primary. Though she hardly sings those gospel tunes these days, they still mean a lot to her since she gains inspiration from her mother, who was the lead singer on her church choir.

"I grew up singing in the church. In fact, if the music scene was different, gospel would be it for me. People are really moved when they hear me sing in church," explained Lawrence, who is just as adept now at deejaying and dancing.

During her sometimes traumatic teen years, music has been a guiding light for Lawrence. With a fractured relationship between her parents, a factor that saw her switching homes regularly between Linstead, Portmore and Ocho Rios, further trauma followed with the untimely death of her mom, when Kimberly was 12. This memory continues to have a strong emotional impact on her, and she admits to breaking down each time she talks about her mother.

Gaining the required break in the industry from Ocho Rios is not easy but Lawrence remains encouraged. She has since penned two songs: Wi a Cry Fi Di Poor and Mama Yuh Gaan, while she has done collaborations
with Potenkle and Tu-Cute, two rising stars from the north coast area. These ventures are being coordinated by Yard British Entertainment, for which she hopes will be released so

In recent years, the UK’s Finn Bell has been noted as one a ‘one to watch’ within the ever growing house and techno community.

Beginning his career experimenting with elements of analogue and electronic music, Finn’s earlier sound could be classed as somewhat eclectic, fusing a traditional ‘house’ sound, with a musical percussiveness, of Latin, funk and disco. More recently Finn’s own work can be seen as taking a slightly more serious note as he steps back and draws on the past, taking inspiration from earlier 80′s and early 90′s House and Techno.

Still incorporating elements of his early sound, his mix of vintage house, cutting bass lines and minimal-esque percussion hits, work in perfect sync. This style was soon recognised and from 2006 he was taken up with many residences across the UK.

His constant exploration of house music has led him to where he is now, not only playing but producing as well. The beginning of 2008 saw the start of a blossoming career in music production; have already seen releases on labels such as Hollister Records (Italy), Celestial Recordings (UK), Modifi music (UK) and HiFi stories (Germany) with support from some of the biggest artists to date Matthias Tanzmann, Luciano, Grant Nelson to name a few.  Finn continues to produce his own unique take on his original and remixed productions. His playing style coincides with the music he makes and always follows the line of ‘house’, from Deep, Soulful and Latin rhythms, through to 80’s inspired, lo-fi, New York and Berlin Techno.

Already at the age of 23, his productions are getting recognised by a host of artists across the globe for creating deep, surging baselines with vocal cuts, abstract soundscapes, and driving percussive themes. DEEP FLIGHT RECORDS 

Deep Flight was launched in 2005 by DJ's Stu-E & Andy Jackson from Sheffield in the north of England.

Over 3 years we pressed a total of 8 Vinyl Releases on the main label and 3 Vinyl releases on sub labels (Azbo/Vito) that were distributed with our mix CD albums and live recordings from our club night Bass Heaven in HMV and all independent dance music record stores worldwide.

With 6 of the biggest Bassline producers signed exclusively to the label Deep Flight Records tracks were smashing all Bassline dance floors. 

An underground music label that delivered all aspects of the Bassline on each release from big vocal warpers to uplifting organ tracks and heavy 4x4 dubs. 

The releases had limited coloured vinyl pressings and these are now rare collectables.

During the end of the 00's Dj technology changed and with this came the decline of records, With this Deep Flight Records needed to move with the market and go digital so dfdownloads was made. A download website that allowed fans of our music to purchase the tracks direct. 

But due to the scene becoming more urban and darker following a merge with the grime scene it became overwhelmed with problems and many big events were shut down with police and licensing executed a zero tolerance to the Bassline scene. 

This combined with a saturation of producers turning over too much new material lead to the quality of the production in the scene jeopardised. Deep Flight and our producers were no longer inspired to continue with little revenue involved it was time to call Bassline a day.

Now years have passed and old school bassline events are appearing all over the place and so Deep Flight Records returns to help to re vamp the scene with fresh top quality productions and a merge in Jackin sounds that has yet to break into the Sheffield dance music scene.

So please help by supporting an original underground Bassline label.

SoulBasics are Steve Fox & Matt Bell hailing from the Northeast of the UK. Music styles vary from deep house to techno, jazz and chill-out.

SoulBasics arrived on the house music production scene early 2006 with releases ‘City-Lite’ and ‘The Phusion EP’ earning them respect and support from some of the scene’s biggest names.

SoulBasics have since released their individual singles on Seed Recordings, Just Deep Music and Baker Street Recordings alongside SoulBasics productions featured on Seamless Recordings and Grooveland Music.

Along side single releases, SoulBasics have remixed tracks for Jay Tripwire, Boddhi Satva, MIchele McCain, Licksamba & Tommy Largo amongst many others.
