Taiyoukei Erika was developed by Applesauce666 by recording her voice samples to be compatible for the singing voice synthesis software UTAU, allowing her to sing. During the early stages of development, Taiyoukei Erika was originally going to have a Wolf Cut (haircut) haircut and Elf ears. However, Applesauce666 decided not to include this because it did not fit with Erika's personality.

On May 21st 2023, Applesauce666 initially named Erika 'Monya Fusaka,' but later changed it because the name did not suit her
