Honestamente pensé mucho si hacer este cover o no.

Es una canción que escuchaba frecuentemente hace ya varios años, y que me acompañó una larga temporada. Se me cruzó justamente cuando estaba pasando por una etapa muy difícil y triste, al grado de que, eventualmente decidí dejar de escucharla porque me llenaba de nostalgia.

Por azares del destino, hace un tiempo la recordé. Pero, había pasado tanto que no podía recordar el nombre, ni de la canción ni de la banda. Hasta que un día, mientras estaba haciendo cuaquier otra cosa y pensando en quién sabe qué, de la nada se me vino el nombre de la canción a la cabeza. Y tras meditarlo, tomé la decisión de trabajar en ella.  
Y así lo hice. Hice el arreglo, grabé la voz, pero tenía tantos pendientes que quedó suspendido. Hasta ahora que, solucioné un problema técnico con mi computadora, se me alborotó la cabeza y decidí subirlo.

En este punto, entiendo que no se trata de enterrar el pasado al fondo de la conciencia sino de, asimilarlo como parte de lo que somos. Por más difícil que sea. Pienso, y creo que no cambiaría nada. Las espadas se forjan a base de fuego y golpes de hierro. Me siento tranquila y en paz con la persona en la que me estoy convirtiendo, asimilando el dolor y transmutándolo en enseñanza y fortaleza.

It honestly took me a while to decide if I should make this cover or not.

It's a song that I used to listen very often several years ago, and it joined me for a long season. It found me just when I was going through harsh times, to the point that I eventually decided to stop listening to it because it filled me with nostalgia.

I don't exactly know why but, I remembered it a while ago. But, it had been so long that I couldn't remember the name, neither of the song nor of the band. Until one day, while I was doing anything else and thinking about who knows what, the name of the song came to mind from nowhere. And after meditating about it, I made the decision to work on it.
So I did. I made the arrangements, recorded the voice, but had so many things to do at the time that I had to put it on standby. Until now that, I solved a technical problem with my computer, and I decided to upload it.

At this point, I understand that it's not about burying the past at the bottom of consciousness but about assimilating it as part of who we are. As difficult as it may be. I think, and I believe I wouldn't change anything. Swords are forged on fire and iron. I feel calm and at peace with the person I am becoming, assimilating pain and transmuting it into lessons, experience and strength.
