Violently Free is Christopher D. Hillsgrove, it began as a composition of poems that gradually morphed into songs (rough demos). Within each song there are elements of the artist and bands that influenced me as a person and a musician. Bands such as brand new, taking back sunday, hum, neutral milk hotel, vision of disorder, machinehead, at the drivin, social distortion, pixies, nirvana, slipknot, dropkick murphy's, flogging molly, joy division, iggy pop, modest mouse, the honorary title, deftones, manchester orchestra, rancid, mars volta, blink 182, and violent femmes. As a song writer I try to convey complex social and life issues into a simple metaphor. I always thought there is something to be said about a simple catchy song that people can take something from.

Before you start on my name, just know i was given this nickname, Ok? Ok. I don't een listen to enough lean or bladee to even consider style biting them for something as silly as a name. In all honesty iv'e been listening to yung lean, bladee, and thaiboy digital for a minute now, but i wouldn't call myself a fan. Sure as fuck appreciate my friends for showing me their music though. Nice change from Circa Survive and Ab-Soul. Props and credit goes to my Straw Hat crew niggas, @GUNBLADE & @The_FrankQ. It was those two that gave me the nickname Yung Jewsh. I consider myself lucky for falling bass ackwards into a new sound/genre & nickname that i really fuck with. Not since my teen years of listening to Saosin and Circa Survive have i felt that iv'e come across some unique music, tailor made for me, or rather this time/phase i'm currently going through. My name is Josh. I have nicknames. I'm shy, modest, and humble because i'm aware how small i am in the grand scale of things. I have moments where i'm confident, but they're rare, and i seldom allow myself to embrace it. Legitimately diagnosed with social anxiety. Prescribed Zoloft and i was recommended the max dose of 200mg a day. Can't deal with the sadness that comes with that shit, so i don't take it anymore. Please no eye contact. Happiness is potent weed of any kind/variation in my system however i can get it in there, a xani bar to chew every once in a while(keep your eye on how often you fuck with those), a stella artois, lemonade, or chilled water to sip on, and a cigrit to cleanse my pallet. 1st mate/confidant to the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirate Fleet. Stárdust Scion is a solo artist from NYC. Incorporating rock, jazz, samba, electronic and pop sensibilities into a raspy, emotive, soundscape for those with the capacity to feel. 
From a planet destroyed emerged the great saiyan Rufiio. Forgetting his violent power he devoted his time to musical-axe and vocal studies until he became the Captain of his own Destiny. Thus becoming a Scion of the Stars.

In the long, snowy winter of 2010, a handful of Philadelphia choral singers decided that they needed more from the local music scene. Hoping for an ensemble featuring challenging repertoire, cooperative musicianship, and innovative programming, they decided to take matters into their own capable hands and founded Chestnut Street Singers.

Based in Center City, Chestnut Street Singers is a cooperative chamber choir committed to active engagement with musical traditions and their evolution. We seek to illuminate commonalities linking the early Renaissance to contemporary practices, integrating canonical repertoire with lesser-known works and augmenting our musicality with creative and irreverent programming. We are dedicated to presenting polished, engaging performances while still being able to sip wine with our audience.

Besides performing great and sometimes under-appreciated music, our goals are many: we cherish our place in the Philadelphia community and are dedicated to offering concerts that are accessible––both financially and intellectually––to our friends, neighbors, and students; we support the work of young composers and instrumentalists; we celebrate the varied inspirations––sometimes silly, sometimes sexy, sometimes thoughtful, and sometimes all three––of classical music; and we believe that making music together is a stimulating, strenuous endeavor, one worth celebrating and supporting.

- ViR-uS : A project including all kind of electronic musics (with samples or synthetizers)

- John Doe and the Janes : An acoustic and solo project : a guitar, and sometimes a voice. (A special thanks goes to Gordy Shumway for the name of the projetct)

- In Real Death : A solo project, for my metal music... violent and dark...an aggressive escape valve

- Crop Circle : A duo project, with my friend Johnny Sidoa... He's playing his own character and I'm Stanislas von Pick.... For conceptual rap and hidden references fans

- +Ghosts : An acoustic project too... but in collaboration with my friend Zwan (Chris from My Dead tree) He's the lead singer and co-composer.

- Laimë Sawaang : A more rock-folk project. Cahaya is the lead singer but also plays the guitar,  and ukulele, Aodh is the bassist, Caemgen is the drummer, i'm the singer and also the guitarist

-AmGAmA : A project mainly based on improvisation and jazz-rock

- Lestael : My main project, where you can find everything I like : jazz, metal, pop, folk, world, rock.... whith some vocals guests : Chris, Cahaya, Arisu...

We're a band called The Venetia Fair and we have no fucking clue what we're doing. 

Our names are Benny, Mr. Chark, Mike, Joe Brown, and Chris. My name, specifically, is Benny and I feel like I'm babysitting four 12-year-olds all the time. Actually, I feel like I'm a 12-year-old babysitting four other 12-year-olds and doing a really bad job (even for a 12-year-old). Mr. Chark is like that weird 12-year-old who has a calculator watch, carries a compass (but still gets lost all the time), and loves the sound of his own voice, especially when he's not using words. Mike's more like a hyperactive 14-year-old who got held back and has to hang out with the younger kids but doesn't mind because he gets to be better than them at everything and the older kids are boring, anyway. Joe Brown is the obnoxious 12-year-old who steals "chromies" off of tires in the parking lot and learns obscene words to scream so he can explain that "it actually means female dog!" to his angry teachers. And then there's Chris, the excitable 12-year-old who can't wait to get a sip of his dad's beer or a peek down a girl's shirt. Hanging out with us is probably more aggravating than anything else but I think we're all best friends. If we actually were 12 years old, we'd be in a secret club and have an awesome fort.

We get compared to a lot of different bands that don't sound anything like each other so it's hard to believe anyone. We try to make music that is theatric, chaotic, catchy, and sometimes a little silly but not too silly because it's also serious business. We have a lot of fun writing the music we write and performing the way we perform. 

Not a single one of us had any substantial training in our instruments or music in general so being in a band was really hard for us sometimes but we worked really hard to make up for it. It takes a lot of work to pretend to be good at something. Then Mike joined up with us and he knows how to play stuff but we still talk to him like we're idiots (we're idiots) so we're still working pretty hard (not smart). We try to play together every single day and some of that playing involves music. 

We tour a lot (but never enough) and consider the van our primary home. It doesn't have an address that you can mail stuff to (we've tried Van, USA. No dice.) so if you want to mail us something just wait until we get to where you are and then just hand it to us. When we play shows, all of our shit gets broken because we pretend we have infinite money to replace things and then we perform accordingly. We also pretend we're invincible. I think Mr. Chark might actually BE invincible. After our first tour, Chark and Chris had to build all new equipment so they just made everything bigger because we like stuff big.

We crash our van all the time. Our van gets towed all the time. We don't take care of ourselves, each other, or really anything. The only thing we care about is that after you see us play, you tell your friend(s) that you have no idea what you just watched.
