This is an audio guide all about Ethereum.

Vitalik Buterin, is a Russian-Canadian programmer and cryptocurrency researcher who came up with the idea for Ethereum in 2013, which finally went live in 2015.

The most plain and simple explanation of Ethereum can be broken down into two words:

Software platform.

Now, what makes Ethereum different from other software platforms is that it is a blockchain-based software platform.

The most plain and simple explanation of blockchain is that it’s records of data stored on a network of computers.

Ether is the Ethereum blockchain’s native cryptocurrency.

To incentivize people to host and maintain the data on the blockchain, Ether was created as a form of payment to fuel the Ethereum network.

Later this year, Ethereum will start to undergo a major network update that has been nicknamed Ethereum 2.0, Eth2, and Serenity.

One of the main goals of this update is to improve the Ethereum network’s efficiency and ability to scale.

Ethereum 2.0 will allow the platform to handle the growing demand for DApps and the DeFi movement at large.

There are many phases to this massive upgrade, so if everything stays on schedule,  it will be a few years until the upgrade is 100% implemented and complete.

We break down bitcoin into simple concepts together, so by the end of the podcast, you will understand why bitcoin was created and the technology behind bitcoin.

If you Google search, “What is Bitcoin?,” you get answers like: “Bitcoin is the first decentralized open source, peer-to-peer network that is powered by its users with no central authority or middlemen using blockchain technology.”

Bitcoin may seem like a difficult concept to wrap your head around, yet it’s actually way simpler than most people think. 

Using bitcoin, you can send and receive value directly to anyone around the world, anytime.

One of the hangups people have with understanding bitcoin, is just another thing we’ve been conditioned to accept as standard business practice: which is separation between value and storage or transference of that value.

So we own and hold fiat like US dollars as something representative of value, yet use completely separate mechanisms to actually use it, store it, and move it around.

So instead of having fiat represent value and paying financial businesses like Venmo and JP-Morgan Chase to move it around and store it, Bitcoin is both value and a means to transfer, store, and manage that value.

This is because bitcoin is both digital value and it’s a network that can store and transfer the bits of digital value.

Value and usage of the value is simply one unified system in the case of bitcoin.

What Bitcoin is & How Bitcoin Works (A Simple Explanation)

This is a podcast for beginners about basic investing and technology concepts that are important to understand before investing in digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies.

Before you start transforming some of your wealth into digital assets like cryptocurrency, I want to share with you two important things you need to know.

Number one, these types of investments are not like anything else you may be familiar with. 

Unlike banks, credit unions, and traditional stock exchanges, there are virtually no fail safes in place to protect you if you make a mistake or don’t understand what you’re doing.

The second thing you need to know is the golden rule of investing:

NEVER invest more than you can afford to lose.

So you need to figure out an amount you are comfortable investing and, more importantly, an amount you can truly afford to invest – then you need to stick with that amount and be patient in the process.

This is an audio guide all about Ethereum 2.0.

Later this year, Ethereum will start to undergo a major network update that has been nicknamed Ethereum 2.0, ETH2, and Serenity.

Ethereum 2.0 will allow the platform to handle the growing demand for DApps and the DeFi movement at large.

There are many phases to this massive upgrade, so it will take a a few years until it's 100% complete.

Phase 0 is the initial phase of the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade.

Ethereum 2.0 is being built on a new blockchain network called the Beacon chain.

And on the Beacon chain, a new way of validating blocks of data will be implemented called proof-of-stake.

In Phase 1 of the ETH2 upgrade, shard chains will be implemented, which is also referred to as sharding.

And sharding is a database management technique that involves simply partitioning large databases into smaller and faster databases.

And in Phase 2, the EVM will be replaced by a new virtual machine called eWASM, which will be Ethereum’s version of WebAssembly code, or WASM.

Phase 3 and beyond will involve upgrades to consensus, upgrades to scaling,and basically any further technical upgrades that need to be implemented to maintain the Ethereum 2.0 ecosystem.

This is a simple explanation of the bitcoin halving event that occurred in May of 2020.

In this video we will be talking about the bitcoin halving, or "halvening," event that took place in May 2020.

We go over what halving is, why halving takes place, and what implications halving has for the future of bitcoin.

The bitcoin blockchain is basically a live, running record of all the bitcoin transactions.

Once a certain amount of transaction data has been collected, a block is formed and added to the ledger.

The basic structure of the bitcoin blockchain consists of a network of computers around the world with bitcoin software installed on them.

The verification and posting of transactions on the blockchain is completed by miners via a process called mining.

The basic concept you need to know about bitcoin mining to better understand the bitcoin halving event, is that miners are rewarded with bitcoin each time they verify a new block of transactions.

These rewards are in place to incentivize miners to participate in the mining process to ensure the bitcoin network continues to be audited and essentially maintained.

Halving, in terms of bitcoin, refers to the reduction in bitcoin block rewards issued to miners by half.

When the halving occurred in May 2020, the block reward halved, or reduced by half, which gives miners 6.25 BTC of newly minted bitcoin per validated block.
