HueHelix is proud to present this tremendous remix EP of the previous digital release by Kazuya Kawakami. 1st up is Hiroaki Iizuka, known worldwide for his top quality funky techno sounds. Hiroaki fixes some aspects of ‘Sleeping Pig’ to make it more floor friendly funky Techno remix. Next up is Excluded, Ryuji Takeuchi’s LSN artist, reconstructing ‘Vote’ with emphasized percussion sounds with strange rhythm groove. At last, Nil is back with this crazy funky disco flavor remix of ‘Void.’ Up next is HHXV004, stay tuned for more info.

Following the much loved release of cult 1981 Yugoslavian film soundtrack Visitors from the Galaxy back in March, the innovative @Foxandhisfriends label is back with another fascinating package. This time it comes in the form of a previously unreleased bit of experimental electronica from Zagreb and former Yugoslavian collective NEP, complete with a modern re-rub by @Snuffo. 

NEP was a loose multimedia collective formed in 1982 that saw founder Dejan Krsic collaborate with various artists in a quest to re-think the stale concepts of art history and the barriers between pop and elitist high culture. Influenced by Walter Benjamin and Andy Warhol in theory, and Brian Eno and Kraftwerk in music, Krsic created NEP as an umbrella term (meaning Nova Evropa) of diverse rule-breaking activities that covered graphic design, music, photography, video, news media and theoretical work. Musically, NEP focused on experiments in ambient and tape-music, mostly self-released or on hard to find compilations like The Cassette Played Poptones from 1988. 

NEP on this 1989 track was led by Dejan Krsic, now famous graphic designer and art historian in Croatia, but other collaborators include Laibach and Borghesia photographer Jane Stravs, artist and TV director Gordana Brzovic, Jovan Culibrk, now Bishop at The Serbian Orthodox Church and Anja Rupel, singer of cult Yugoslavian synth-pop group Videosex.

In 1989, as the group reached the peak of its powers, the ‘Decadance’ track presented here was conceived in the studio, but was never published. Restored and mastered from original reel-to-reel tapes and pressed on wax for the first time, this single is a sneak-peak into the world of POP NOT POP, an album and graphic book merged into one multimedia entity that will be released later this year

With pumping Roland 808 beats, sampled vocals from Linda Cooper asking herself “How do I dance to this music?” and a cold wave groove, it is brilliantly retro futuristic and is sure to become a real cult classic.

Remixing it is German producer Snuffo, the masked hero of the house, acid and old school loving Snuff Crew. He splits the title vocal into a new cut-up form that says, “Dance to this music” and reworks the track as seven wonderfully mechanical and metallic minutes of synth heavy grooves. Little stabs, crisp percussion and chilly drums all demand you dance.

This is a brilliant release that is sure to spark plenty of interest in the sorely overlooked collective that is NEP. 

What’s more, the first 100 copies bought directly from the label will include a bonus comic strip insert by Marvel collaborator Miroslav Mrva.

VSK is honoured to start the journey of his new imprint with a selection of great artists. “Equilibrio volume 1” is a presentation of the different visions of techno the label wants to focus on. Modernity, deepness and hypnotism, sound design and complex textures will be the key elements of the label. 

The first track is a collaboration between VSK himself and the Polish producer Michal Jablonski. X&Y is a combination of Epic drones, glitchy fx and a metallic fm synth line. Speed and fast modulation are the main ingredients for the development of an obsessive groove. 
Malaria by the Spanish artist Kwartz, is an hypnotic dance between extreme ranges of frequency ; white noise and rising screams are wonderfully mixed together with an aggressive broken-subbeat. 
The surgical touch of Ansome brings with “Operational Amplifier” a really complex sound design and fierce rhythmic programming, while a distorted roar beats hauntingly the time. 
The last cut, Shori by the italian artist Flaminia, is an obscure and elegant march. Cinematic and ethereal strings come together with an aggressive raw beat , providing an excellent techno experience.

Sebastian Heda's new EP is a auditory glimpse into the insides of the 
haywired central nervous system of a man machine. The opener DISSOLUTION takes no prisoners and sets the direction for this exploration in modular-made attacks from a dystopian future. Followed by no less than two great remixes by ARCHITEKTUR and CAREMAJOR. The next and eponymous track CV GUERILLA is at arms and aims at you with relentless, percussive drum fire and another well executed version by ENDLEC. Finally you get short bursts of radio traffic from a RANDOM SOURCE, leaving nothing but silence and a big grin on your face.
