Hey Artur man, love the drive with which this one begins. It's like throwing down the gauntlet before the duel. A very serious sounding song here. Love how you pick up on those high end riffs right after those big sweeps, too. Sounds like your guitar is having a conversation with itself. Fascinating and a joy to hear, as always, brother man. Playin' With My Friends

Well hello. Here’s some rustic Mountain Blues, played on extremely oxidized guitar strings, with me hollering from the mountain top. Hahahaha. The song hints at a personal authenticity, and the experience of possibly unraveling any prior conditioning (Pavlovian or otherwise) that may constrict our lives in some way. It’s also about the different personas we portray to the outside world. How we may act at work, or on a first date, or with our spouse, or kids, friends, enemies, those who hurt us, even our stage personas comes into play…. So this song is asking a lot of us. In other news, right now in June, the mountains are snow covered and it froze last night. That is late spring, early summer here. Gardenwise, this year, I am planting a lot more Brassicas: Kale, Cabbage and Broccoli, and they are growing well. I am going to try to fence off the carrot/beet beds, as the voles always eat more carrots and beets than I ever do. Onions, leeks and garlic have been growing since March. I transplanted 50 lettuce plants I grew from seed that I saved from last year’s lettuce. The berry bushes and fruit trees have really blossomed this year. There are squash, cukes, tomato and pepper plants inside by the window, to be transplanted outside next week, quite a mess… all of which keeps me busy…. Hahaha. This song began when Carl, who is always making connections on the Cloud, was inspired to write a song about our bandmate, Mark. As you can tell from his lyrics, Carl shares our appreciation and respect for our resident Canadian singer and multi instrumentalist. So, when he had the chords worked out on his acoustic guitar, and a great vocal track, he recorded them and started a project, to which the rest of Eclectic Collective were invited.
  First up to bat was Ken, laying in his always clever, essential beat for the rest of us to work with. Stephen was the next person to lay down a track, which was his essential, but subtle electric rhythm track. Later, after it was almost done, he also added a fiery solo in the firt part of the ending section. Josh came along right after Stephen, laying down his signature fretless bass. He also added the organ shortly after, as well. Tez entered the fray next, adding the lightning, Gilmore-esque final solo in the end section. 
  We considered what to do with this song for a minute, too. The thought was whether to present it to Mark as a gift, or to include him in the mix. We decided to go with the latter, and he added the awesome vocalizations towards the end, as well as some cool triangle.
  Once we had it in the bag, we turned it over to Stephen for the production, mix, and mastering, which he always does in a very pro manner.
  This is our second of hopefully many songs with Carl. If you have good music on your page, there's a good chance that he'll hit you up to collaborate. Like the moon, he's everywhere, and he's a damn fine collaborator, too. We hope you enjoy hearing this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Boy, it's sure weird posting a song that was written for yourself! These gents (including our buddies J.J. & Chris who didn't make it onto this track, but equally deserving of mention) are a fine group of fellers who all come from good families and such, but over time have developed ways about them that just ain't right. Lol, I kid, but they are gems to a man, and I'm surprised, confused, honoured to have them pick on me with their weapon of choice, music. Special thanks to Carl for his boundless generosity and music energy, and for just being Carl in everything he does.

This is a special version of my piece called „Love Song”.
A few days ago, Brian Wilson - one of the greatest creators of pop rock music and a surf rock icon - passed away! R.I.P. 🍀

Brian’s songs, both recorded with The Beach Boys and solo songs, are always innovative and enjoyable at the same time 🔆

The album “Pet Sounds” (released in 1966) by The Beach Boys is a real masterpiece that enchants and inspires many musicians to this day!
The wonderful song “God Only Knows” which comes from this album is the work of Brian Wilson. One of several best songs of all time indeed! 😎

Also worth recommending is Brian Wilson's solo album entitled “Smile” (released only in 2004) which includes the brilliant track "Good Vibrations”. The whole album impresses with its fresh ideas and innovative sound! 

I really love it 🔆 I'm sure Brian Wilson's beautiful and fascinating music will stay with us forever!

This song was written for my beautiful wife Anita shortly after we both met. One of many I've written her, she is after all the love of my life. She put an end to that crazy mid-life crisis I was struggling with for 6 years! I really like this ballad and I re-recorded it this year and wanted Charlie to sing it but he cancelled out on several occasions for personal reasons, so I went ahead and sang it myself, I guess I should have waited!  (please forgive my awful vocals and harms!). It's a very basic and raw song and I didn't record a lot of instruments and I didn't do a lot of overdubs, maybe I should have, maybe a piano or some more strings would have helped it a bit. It's one of my favorite love songs that I have written and it's very personal, both lyrics and medley came to me rather easily and quickly, maybe an hour at most! Those are the best, the ones that come to you without you even having to think about it, they come straight from the heart.

The video is brand new and I had a lot of fun putting it together. I worked for several days on it. Another notable one is the project with my friend from Kansas City - Nathaniel Ehrnman. Together we created a quiet track called "Good Days”. A short time later, another project followed: "Between Us”. Bill Brooks (Remnant60) added his synthesizers to my guitar part and also took care of the production of this song! This is how the combination of surf music with electronica came about. 🌔
Our next collaborative piece between Bill Brooks and myself is titled: „Things Change”. Bill added his synths and bass to my guitar track and also took care of the production and mixing. The end result is available on our profiles! 😎
