A track that really holds your attention with its emotion & craft. The swirling phased chords, staccato synth hook and subtle guitars really hit you in the feels, paired up with bone dry disco drums and a thumpy kick. Its a track we cant get enough of on an EP that has really impressed us. More please.

Hans Peeman, perhaps better known as Junktion or as one half of Fouk with label mate and friend Daniel Leseman, also has another side project. New Franklin Theory is his lesser known alias, one focusing a bit less on sampling and more on melodic explorations, with a lot more synth work and instrumentation. He's only released under the moniker once before, a 2 track 10" on his own native Outplay Records that perhaps went a little bit under-appreciated. Now he's back once again on the label with a 5 track mini album of sorts, entitled "Chemical Boogie", to really showcase what he can do.

Peeman's signature percussion is perhaps best heard on the opener, Andromeda Beach, a funk and boogie fuelled jam that's closest to what we've come to know him for. Our premiere today and the A2 on the record, Homeward, features some fantastically spacey cosmic pads and a rumbling bass, lending it a bittersweet, introspective sound. Closing off the first side of the record is Afterburner, an uptempo groover with some addictive synthesized horn-like melodies. Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff.

On the flip, the B1, In Orbit, takes you for a ride. The funky bassline and deep rhodes chords paired with the interplanetary atmospheres and effects do the title justice. Finally, The Holtzman Effect, named after a fictional scientific phenomenon, caps off the EP with a hooking subterranean bass that sends you wiggling your butt straight into alien territory.It's refreshing to see a producer so well known for a particular sound continue to explore new avenues and evolve as personal tastes change and mature, but still retain some of that flavour that made his music so irresistible in the first place.

One year after its release, Quartet Series proudly presents the remix EP of Nachtbraker’s successful debut album When You Find a Stranger in the Alps. A collection of remixes by some serious talent. These three producers were carefully selected by Nachtbraker because of their impeccable reputation and ability to bring something unique to the world of music.

Humble Danish maestro Central (Help, Dekmantel) flips “Flambo” into a Jori Hulkkonen’esque summer anthem with a highly addictive bassline. Preacher of wonkiness Frits Wentink (Wolf, Heist, Bobby Donny) took “LOL” and brought it some serious keys on a solid breakbeat while maintaining its jolly character. Flipping the record, Nachtbraker brings us the evolution of “Just Doing My Thang” turning it into a quirky dance floor tune whilst also showcasing his ear for detail. Up and coming talent Nemo Vachez (Forest Ill, Opia Records, Rakya) dives deep into “Horsepony” as if he’s cruising the depths of a rainforest in a submarine. His surreal dub mix is the perfect final track of this fine piece of wax.
