TRC B2B Mix VOL1 With Guest Mixer Charlie Price

Hey Crew, 

Happy Friyay everyone and welcome to the second instalment of the TRC B2B guest mix series, which I am very pleased to welcome @ian.perry.dj to this time around 🙏🎶🎧💃🪩🕺😎😊

I first met Ian IRL back in 2022 at The Shapeshifters ‘Let Loose’ album launch 🚀 night, along with @djmichaelgrayofficial. 

Then in 2023 I went to Michael’s first Sultra night at PoW in Brixton, plus got to see Ian play out the night, which was brilliant 🤩. Subsequently, we hooked up on IG, plus struck up an immediate rap-our, with all things music related.

Then, later in 2023, I went along to the second Sultra night at PoW again, plus Ian played the opening set of the night. 

Ian also started his mix series on SoundCloud ‘Can You Dance To My Beat?’ (about the same time as I started TRC Groovers Assemble), so my mix also includes quite a few tracks from the Vol 1 of TRC GA mix series, so don’t forget to check that out too, if you get a chance 🙏🎧🎶😊

What has struck me then and since I first saw Ian play a few sets live, plus listening to nearly all his mix series on SoundCloud, is what a brilliant digital crate digger and curator / selector he is, plus all the magic that his memory sticks behold, brings such joy!! He always manages to pluck some absolute musical gems out of nowhere and I am sure many hours and much money is spent to achieve this, so big love Sir 👏🫡👏🫡👏🫡 …

So, I thought my first hour set, should in some way also pay a little homage, to some of the great music and sources that Ian has plugged and played in a few of his various mixes, such as @peverell_music, @chemars_g, plus many more artists on Bandcamp and other sources too. We are also truly thankful for the ongoing music and friendship that Ian has, with the man himself Mr Michael Gray  🫡😎🎶🎧💜🙏

Hey crew, a bit later than planned this month but happy Fri-yay, plus here’s the fourth instalment of the TRC B2B guest mix series (last one of 2024 - more to follow in 2025), which I am very pleased to welcome @ericthedarsh1valade this time around 🙏🎶🎧💃🪩🕺😎😊

Eric (aka ‘The Darsh’), I first came across on ‘The Shapeshifters Sunday Service’ feeds on a lot of his twitch sets back in the COVID days, which were full of great tunes, a massive vibe, banter and a meeting point for like minded people to come together all for the love of music 💃🪩🕺🎤🎧🎶

Eric hails from Toronto, in Canada, plus back in early 2022, he bought some DDJ decks, with the simple goal of hosting his own DJ livestream on Twitch.

Originally planned as a one-off-event he intended to celebrate the community which evolved from those early gatherings, with the “Canadarsh Day" but the stream wound up being the jumping off point into a wider world of music appreciation and international friendship.

He has subsequently also posted fourteen ‘Darsh Session’ mixes on his SoundCloud account (check them out on the link below).

We have since become great, great friends subsequently, plus he did all my original DJPB ‘shout outs’. I finally had the pleasure of meeting Eric face-to-fave IRL, back in November this year,  when he was over in the UK as the special guest DJ for the team kitchen bowel cancer awareness fund raiser 👏🫡👮‍♂️✊🎧🎶💥

Hey Crew, 

Happy Fri-yay to you all, plus here’s the tenth instalment of the RC B2B guest mixes of this first series, which I am very humbled, honoured and very excited to welcome Greg @dr_packer this time around 🙏🎶🎧💃🪩🕺😎😊

Greg has been producing his legendary Reworks and Remixes since 2013 when he started his 'Dr Packer' alias, having started out as  ‘DJ Greg Packer' back in 1989.

I have been a huge fan of Greg’s reworks and remixes for a long, long while now. Plus, I  have been including a lot of his releases on my SoundCloud mixes (in this series of B2B mixes), plus my RC Groovers Assemble mixes too over the last few years. Along with a homage mix initially, plus also mixing his regular and awesome MasterMix tracks too. 

Notably, pushing the norm, with the last release back in February where Greg focused on some ‘Jazz Funk’ classics! 

I first met Greg IRL, when he appeared at the Soul Stew event with Chad Jackson, at Windsor back in 2023 on another of his brilliant UK & European summer tours. 

Being one of my hero’s, it was great to chat briefly as an introduction, plus present him with one of my ‘limited edition’ hand made wall frames for vinyls or pictures.

Then last year, I was even more excited to be able see and catch up with Greg again at the end of his tour, on his old stomping ground back in Northampton, at The Pomfret Arms. During this, I was properly made up, when he very, very kindly agreed to do a guest mix for me 😊🙏😎🫡

So sorry, but not sorry yet again, for including a small but brilliant selection of some of Greg’s now legendary ‘Reworks and Remixes’ for my first hour set of this show! An opportunity like this to play a warm up set, ahead of his brilliant mix, really wouldn’t be apt without playing these as my salute 🫡 to the genius of Greg and the Dr!!

Silver Ivanov - Come To Me ft Hreez

"Boca Na Água" emerges as a connecting point between Brazilian culture and the current electronic music scene. The track, already tested on major stages such as Ritual Stage at Surreal Park, B.O.M.A, Colmeia at Green Valley, Tetto Rooftop, and others, features excerpts from the iconic Rita Lee, a figure who transformed Brazilian music since the late 1970s.

The vocals, rescued from "Mania de Você" (1979), bear the mark of a time when Rita expanded her aesthetic, approaching pop and disco, without abandoning the boldness that made her famous. By inserting it into an electronic context, the production not only pays homage but also reopens this gesture of rupture and freedom.

The result is a track that escapes predictability: Brazilian in essence, global in reach. "Boca Na Água" asserts itself as a work that doesn't repeat formulas, but rather clearly weaves memory and the present.
