November 2023 Discoveries.

Many people simply want to hear and enjoy some great new music without having to waste time searching for hours. These Musical Discoveries collections aim to fulfil those needs. At least, we hope so! :)

This playlist is a compilation of the favourite musical discoveries of the Wud Records team from everything they heard at SoundCloud during November 2023.

Tracks have been arranged according to the number of plays at the precise moment of publishing, starting with the fewest. Tracks that are early in playlists tend to receive more plays than later tracks, and we feel that the ones with fewer plays need the best chance of exposure.

This playlist is extremely eclectic, so if the track you are playing isn't quite doing it for you, try the next one. It will probably be completely different.

If you enjoyed listening to something here, please give it a like and a repost. Follow the artist. Give them a shoutout on social media. Check out some of their other tracks. Buy something from them and your support will help them to keep going. Doing any of this will help raise their profile. At the very least you might make their day. :)

Sharing is very, very important !!

Sharing is a massive help for independent artists. They don’t have big corporations and mainstream media saturating every channel with their product. Every independent share counts.

Giving something a ‘like’ is nice, but sharing exposes the artist to your followers. This means that anybody in your community can see and click on what you shared. They can potentially enjoy it as well. It enables somebody new to discover the artist and become their newest fan. You create the chance for that to happen.

If you happen to be on this playlist, please share, and give us a shoutout on your social media feeds - because if we spot it, it gives us another opportunity to repost you and big you up. What an honor to add my acoustic guitars to this collaboration with ace electric guitarist, keyboardist, and producer Seagull, Soundcloud's Poet Laurette Peter, Soundcloud's Poet of the piano, Debra Buesking, and vocalists Clara, and Snowflake.  With this visionary and epic trilogy, we explore the human condition and the choices we must make that will determine our destiny as a race.  It is a longer work but a rewarding listen if taken as a whole, but can still be appreciated in smaller bites if time doesn't allow a nearly 16 minute commitment.  The first segment is "Lost" until 4:55, "Lament is from 4:56-10:14, and "Ghost of a Dragon" until the end.

Very often, my tunes are journeys. This track took off on a rainy Tuesday evening in a cold and lonely Denmark and somehow ended on a Saturday night in a samba procession in Rio de Janiero. During the trip, you can hear me play a piano solo as well as a guitar solo. Lots of horns, percussion and a lot of details.

Although we all may want to continue with our creative pursuits for ever, age has a way of catching up with you in ways that you hadn’t envisaged.  Our 3-piece garage band still enjoy creating and recording new tracks but as time goes on, we’re all  becoming acutely aware that each song is taking a little longer than it did previously, the input required a bit more energy than the last.  Factor in all of the daily ‘looking after yourself’ stuff and you start to realise there's less and less time to do everything that needs doing.

Gal does pretty much all of the admin. work on our page (listening, commenting, re-posting and the like) and for various reasons, fitting all of this in has become a somewhat impossible task for him.  That is not to say he doesn't still enjoy interacting with all of you but is finding that he no longer has the time nor stamina to carry on.

For myself, as the one who generates the material, songs are taking longer to write and develop.  For Hans, who so brilliantly arranges and produces them, fitting the process in with his real life responsibilities certainly doesn’t get any easier.  

Consequently, we are announcing our retirement from active involvement here on SC.  As the song explains, we don’t really want to stop. It’s more a case of having to.  For family archive purposes, we still plan to record and upload songs from time to time but since we won’t be around to provide any return support, know it is wholly unreasonable to expect any listens or comments.  You have all given so much already.    

We never expected the last 10 years to happen the way they have and want you to know that it's been a journey the entire Reeves’ family have enjoyed so very much.  None of this would have been possible without the support of our many friends here on SoundCloud, whose encouragement has buoyed us through the difficult personal times. We’ve had an absolutely wonderful ten years and we wouldn’t have missed it for the world.  We wish all of you the best of luck in your future endeavours.  From the heart, to one and all, thanks so much for everything.

They say time flees, I don't think it does ;-) It is rather we who are taking the flight forward, but ... idle philosophising :-D .......
