Just examples of what I dabble in until the time cummeth that my shit is together and I sniff out how to properly record. I only really figured out how to notch the reverb knob. Being a woman you see, when ever I go to do something technically complex, my fanny flaps lash out, like a frogs tongue to a fly and knock out any equipment from my hands before I get all giddy trying to comprehend it. I suppose this Is why men so kindly offer to tune my instruments. To which I queef 'fuck off' in a deep metal voice.

Performing from the age of 15 in her hometown of Scappoose, Oregon, Stevi Marie has graced the stage with many talented artists and musicians, all of which who have contributed to her unique style. The energy that fills a room when she performs is contagious and addictive. Her fans come from miles around to soak in the infectious dynamism. Whether she is blowing a bluesy trumpet solo over the backdrop of a weeping steel guitar, strumming and singing an old country tune accompanied by her amazing band “Jackson Road”, or ripping a dirty punk-rock influenced guitar riff, the honesty and emotion for her love of music is always present. At a Stevi Marie & Jackson Road show the temptation to dance is irresistable. The group’s ability to play a fast-truckin’-2-step-honky-tonk driver, or a subtle laid-back groove keeps the listeners tappin’ their toes and entertained.

Stevi may not be a nationally known artist, however, she has had a top 50 hit on the European Country Music Chart of which she wrote and produced, music screened by top industry publishers and producers, showcased in Nashville and LA, and is approaching 1000 gigs. Her original music has been compared to the likes of the great Gram Parsons, and her voice to sensations Emmylou Harris and Suzy Bogguss, of which she kindly accepts with an unsure giddy smile.
As with any artist, inspiration is backed by real life experiences. Growing up in the woods of a small town in NW Oregon, owning several small businesses, later teaching in Navajo County, and marrying her best friend and band member, Gregory Jackson, has made for an interesting life story. On that note, the writing process is not always easy for her, but pulling ideas from familiar experiences has guided her songwriting over the years. While Stevi’s ability to capture the moment and emotions through a song is compelling and biting at times, she strives to be genuine.

Her newest album, Baby Blue Jeans, is a sincere effort at exploring her past relationships. Although the album is a reflection of the past, experiences of those interactions are ultimately revealed. Produced, recorded, and written by Stevi in Warren, Oregon, the record features great musicianship from country lead guitarist Chris Miller, steel guitarists Paul Brainard and Bob Love, pianist Matt Burnett, drummer Steve Shroy, fiddler Bob Baker, and bassist and vocalist Gregory Jackson. The basic tracks were recorded with Stevi singing and strumming acoustic guitar while Steve Shroy laid down the drums. Once the drum tracks were solid, Stevi overdubbed acoustic guitars and recorded the tight bass lines played by Greg Jackson. All other instruments were added until final tracks were chosen for the mixing process. Keith Sommers, a talented Producer/Engineer tweaked the final mixes and co-produced the songs “Around the Bend” and “Baby Blue Jeans (reprise)”. The brilliant Producer/Engineer Steve Sundholm (son of acclaimed Sunn amplifier creator), mastered the project adding depth to the home-recorded tracks.

In Stevi’s Words:

“There’s nothing I love more than driving my jeep down an old logging road on a warm Oregon summer day and then starting a bonfire as the sun goes down, grabbing my guitar, and singing songs with friends until the moon rises over the horizon. Performing, recording, and writing music needs to be enjoyable and in the moment as well. If I’m working in the studio and the atmosphere is not pleasurable then something’s not right; I’m either not connecting with the other musical contributors or I’m heading down the wrong path. I have never tried to be the next “whoever…” Yeah, sure I love the true great big name artists who have created a memorable presence here on earth with their musical influence and style. However, if I tried to pursue my musical career by copying another great artist what would I be? I wouldn’t be me…”

Naztee, born on October 30, 1982, in Yarmouth Nova Scotia, has been paying his musical dues for a number of years now. The founder and main act of local record label Hoodrat Productions since September of 1996, Naztee has released, produced and been featured on upwards of twenty underground albums.

A firm believer in political activism and a devout Christian and sports fan, Naz is extremely passionate about whatever topic he may speaking on. He is the oldest of four brothers of two loving parents. Two of the brothers, Kev-O & MSG, are also hip-hop producers and are contributors to the underground and upcoming albums. Youngest brother, Merrill, is also an extremely talented piano player. A very musical family breeds an absolute love affair with all genres of music, but it’s been hip-hop music that has always captured the heart of Naz, beginning all the way back in 1993 upon first hearing 2Pac’s Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z album.

Naztee wrote and produced his first E.P., Wu-Troy Clan’s Never Touch Us, back in 1996 at the age of 12. The seven track E.P. was basically an introduction of the group, which also featured younger brother Kev-O. Wu-Troy Clan also released a self-titled, full length LP in the summer of 1997. As a solo act, Naz, or DJ Troy as he was called back then, released his first record, Give Propz, in 1998. The 15-track LP showed great advancement from the prior releases. Naz also produced and was featured on 1999's Dr. K aka Kevo's debut and only E.P., Thug 'Til I Die, appearing, for the first time, as Loc Dogg.

A name change was most definitely a high priority following the Give Propz album, and was quickly made. Given that he was such a fan of the Wayans Brothers and their films, he took on the monicre of Loc Dogg, from the film Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. Starting in ’98, and continuing through into 2000, a ton of tracks were written and 19 were chosen for 2000′s Loced Out. The album was by head and shoulders ahead of anything previously recorded and led well into 2003′s Legendary and 2005′s Have It All.

2007 came quickly and led to a brand new sound and a brand new endeavour. Now dubbed as PIMP Naztee by partner in Rhyme, Sho*Shott, a new mixtape project was at hand. The 27-track Tha Loced Out Mixtape vol. 1 brought a lot of attention to the 25 year old emcee and began a trail of local destruction.

By far the biggest year for releases by Hoodrat Productions as a label was 2008. Naz himself released three LPs, Tha Sound of Realnezz, Thugg’z Intuition, and Kriminal Tiez, a second mixtape, Tha Loced Out Mixtape vol. 2, contributed the bulk of the tracks to a compilation album entitled Str8 Gangstafied, and produced the vast majority of E-Bone’s debut record, Just Me.

Deal Wit Dis, the eighth full length solo record in Naztee’s arsenal, was released in 2009, as was a duo LP with E-Bone entitled Storm B4 Da Calm. Eastside Souljah, the youngest member of the Hoodrat team, also released two albums in 2009, Tha Next Move and My Mind, and both were produced by the LA Kingz, better known as Naztee, Kev-O & MSG.

But the real news of 2009 was the release of Naztee’s first professionally recorded album, Sinister Sound. The album was engineered by Tim Feswick of Feswick Productions. All sixteen tracks were self-produced and the very talented Molly Thomason was featured on the track “Pressure.”

Following the release of Sinister Sound’s first single “Tha Name Iz Naztee” becoming a permanent fixture on local radio station CJLS, Naz was immediately back in Feswick Productions to record a follow-up E.P. entitled Martial Law. The predominately political record also yielded a single called “Stay Low” which also enjoyed moderate airplay on CJLS. The E.P. also led to the first collaborations with the newest member of Hoodrat Productions, Wint James.

Near the end of 2010, Naz hit the studio once again to record a new LP. Livewire is a double album with an astounding 38 tracks. Features from California heavyweight Shade Sheist, Sufferahsmusic, Jeanine Smith, Kristen Hatt, Wint James, and Tim Feswick, and production from Naz himself, Kev-O, MSG, DJT Productions, and German Lopez aka Genycis led to a much different sound on this album. Livewire is currently being printed and should be out very shortly.

On September 20 of 2010, Naz pulled a mind-blower by opening up a local show for two heavy metal heavyweights in the area, Drawn & Quartered and Demons. The show was monumental in that it was the very first concert thrown by Yarmouth Metal, brainchild of Nick Dugas and Jeff Clairmont. The show also produced a 3-track E.P. entitled Live at the End of Summer Meltdown.

Spawning from the live metal show, Naztee got to work on a 4-track E.P. with heavy metal band Illusion of Security. The genre-smashing tracks featured Naz rapping, and surprisingly screaming, over instrumentals laid by the group. Sleep Is For the Weak gained enough attention that the crew has decided to work together again in the very near future on a new endeavor.

Eastside Souljah's third release, Pass Da Torch, was released nearing the end of 2010, and featured production and lyrical contributions from both Naztee and MSG.

Because the process of recording 38 tracks, deciding on which to use, picking specific beats, and arranging the features was such a task, the writing process for the next record was started immediately. Rhyme Zone will feature 17 powerful tracks, and also yielded an entire LP of underground music entitled Scrapz. These tracks were originally written with the intention of being used on the Rhyme Zone LP, but were dropped due to an overflow of tracks. Production on Scrapz came from Naztee, Wint James, and MSG, and features include Sufferahsmusic, Vin Dog, and Lil' Nate.

In early July of 2012, Naztee & Wint James teamed up on a collaboration LP which featured 16 tracks, all of which were produced by Wint. The bulk of the lyrical game was provided by Naz, who also pinched in with the post-production and sampling work on the album.

Naz co-produced a track on the newest Bud Ogden album, August's The Antagonist. The track was very experimental, incorporating a Hip Hop beat by Naztee, and the other instruments and vocals by Bud. The track was entitled "Behavioural Problems".

On his 30th birthday, the 30th of October, 2012, Naztee released the third instalment of Tha Loced Out Mixtape. The album featured 23 tracks and features from Suga Free and Young Brown, as well as a track produced by Wint James.

Indie rock dominates my music taste as of late. It feels good enjoying these music only few people know. So it's basically like an escape route from all these mainstream music, new and refreshing. 

I'm currently a giddy little fan girl of Barcelona. I can almost cry by just listening to Brian's voice.
But Panic! At The Disco would always have a space in my heart.

Six Flags AstroWorld was a seasonally operated theme park located on approximately 57 acres (23 ha) of land (later expanded to over 75 acres (30 ha)) between Kirby Drive and Fannin Avenue, directly south of Loop 610 in Houston, Texas. Opening on June 1, 1968, it was originally developed and constructed as part of the Astrodomain, the brainchild of local philanthropist and former Houston mayor Judge Roy Hofheinz, who intended it to complement The Astrodome.[1]

AstroWorld was sold to the Six Flags Corporation by the Hofheinz family in 1975. Although the fourth park to be included in the Six Flags family of theme parks, it was the first park to be purchased by that company instead of being built. It was marketed as "AstroWorld: A Member of the Six Flags Family" so as to not confuse patrons with Six Flags Over Texas located in Arlington. Many variations of this naming scheme emerged from the Six Flags marketing department over the years. Despite these attempts at branding the park, most people continued to call it "AstroWorld" and the company eventually responded by making the individual park's name more prominent. Similarly, Fiesta Texas in San Antonio has been marketed as "Fiesta Texas: A Six Flags Theme Park".

AstroWorld was permanently closed by the Six Flags Corporation after its final day of operations on October 30, 2005. It was demolished between October 30, 2005 and the first half of 2006 (although parts of WaterWorld were being demolished prior to the final operating day at AstroWorld). The bridge crossing Loop 610 from the park to the parking lot continues to stand and is the last remaining structure from AstroWorld. The area where AstroWorld once stood is still grassland and is used for overflow parking during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
