I have been receiving emotional healing over the last 20 years but never as simple and approachable as this. As soon as I read through this book I went to an extremely painful event from my youth done against me and felt all the pain associated with it, anger, hurt, confusion, rejection and sadness, and forgave my offenders. Incredible peace flooded over me and I knew my current life reactions were connected to this event. I could no longer find or feel any negative emotion from the event except the sadness and Yeshua (Jesus) gave me a gladness that I could still have a forgiving relationship with these individuals. Note: I was not molested but provoked to fight to defend myself (I am not a fighter) but it was very traumatic at the time. No matter how simple you think events in your life may have been affected by were traumatic enough to stir up negative emotions  they affected your soul. Even grief or loss. Seek healing for your soul to be whole and complete again. Blessings!!!

It is good to reframe how we view anxiety - it is a warning signal, nothing more. It is great to re-frame anxiety so that we can learn and grow and realize we don't have to stay filled with anxiety.  We don't have to live in the anxiety and we can "map" what happened, and move forward with the proper peace to know we have a certain amount of self-agency. This sense of agency is essential for us to feel control in our lives, to believe in our capacity to influence our own thoughts and behavior, and have faith in our ability to handle situations or make changes. This isn't about learning to "control" more it is learning that when we feel anxiety it was a warning signal and that our instincts are working properly and we can make course corrections and move forward.  I found this book very helpful.

I’m a busy mom of two (three if you count my husband) and this cookbook has been such a life saver to my weekly meal planning! All of the recipes and instructions are super easy to follow. It’s pushed me out of my traditional cooking comfort zone (ex. plain rice with just butter) to try new things that are both healthy and clean to eat! I’ve followed Sammy’s instagram account for years and was so excited when this book came out and snatched it the day of. So far I can attest the carrot cake oatmeal, mojo pork, and jalapeño lime coconut rice and all big hits and excited to try more! 10/10 recommend!

This book is divided into three main parts, with 11 chapters, and a total of 378 pages in the main body of the text.  After this is the Appendix section, which has several different useful lists; including dozens of recipes, shopping lists, nutrient lists, supplement lists and more.  These extra resources and lists add another 250 pages or so, making the total page count around 625.
At the start of the book introduces the concept of your “Bio Age”, and how this differs from your actual chronological age.  She explains how the field of epigenetics has recently allowed for a much more accurate assessment of bio age, and a better understanding of what steps can be taken to lower a person's bio age.
The first part of the book explains “The New Science of Aging”, discussing epigenetics, genes, and diet and lifestyle choices that can lower bio age.  The second part of the book focuses on general advice and diagnostic tools to help asses your bio age, plan a diet, and add in supplements.  The third section is more about customizing the plan to fit your specific needs, and monitoring changes to design a strategy that is optimal for you.
At the end of the book, the first Appendix section contains dozens of recipes.  These recipes consist of simple instructions, without pictures of the food.  All of the recipes DO include nutritional information; such as total protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, and calories.  This is very helpful in planning out a precise and targeted diet, and I wish more recipe books included this information.  The recipes are divided into: Breakfast, Light Dishes, Main Courses, Snacks and Sweets, and Beverages.  There are also more pages of useful resources; such as supplement lists, ingredient notes, and even information about the methylation cycle.
Overall I enjoyed reading this book.  The text was informative, and the list of recipes and nutritional information at the end was very helpful.  Even though I had previously read very similar information about aging, I still appreciated the way that the information was presented here; and the resources at the end really helped to provide examples of positive changes that you can make right away.

What a great book!  As a parent of two ADHD children, I wish that I'd had it earlier.  It makes sense of so much of my experience.  I'm sure that many parents will find the practical advice very helpful, but what really moved me was how it explained the ADHD brain and the subjective experience of children with ADHD.  So many of the struggles and frustrations that I went through are illuminated here.
Also--the book is extremely readable, something for which I'm very grateful.  I pretty much got through the whole thing in about two days
Finally, even though I found this book a little bit late, I have another child at home who does not have ADHD.  I have to say that one of the beautiful things about the book is that the empathy and way of thinking that it fosters is extremely helpful to parents of all children.  As I was reading through the chapters, I found myself thinking of my other child as well.

Awful for me. This book honestly makes me furious. Before baby, I was 100% on board with this method. Then baby was born. She was a difficult to schedule baby, not a great sleeper, fussy. I tried and tried to do this to NO avail. I set alarms to WAKE her up (my precious sleeping angel!) from naps to feed her on a schedule so she would be "more likely to sleep through the night". Ridiculous. She still slept poorly at night. And I was needlessly more exhausted. I kept saying, "This feels so wrong to wake my sleeping babe." And I'm convinced some babies are just easier, and some are more challenging. This book essentially tells you that you will be GUARANTEED to have a happy baby who inconveniences you very little and sleeps through the night at 8 weeks of age. Bull. I stressed out so much over this and worked so hard and doubted myself so much.  To the point of breaking down to my OB and getting Zoloft. This book ruined the first few months with my baby. Truthfully. I gave it to Goodwill but almost burned it so as not to subject another mom like me to this. Once I let go of this and began following my baby, I became so much happier and so did she! I nurse her to sleep every night and on demand, and now at 9 months she sleeps through the night ON HER OWN. I'm sorry, but babies are babies. They change your life. They exhaust you. They are hard. So hard. The first year is just tons of growth and ups and downs and rapid changes. But, they grow up and change and improve, whether you do BW or not. I realize it works wonders for some. But for me, it was honestly one of the worst things that ever happened to me. It felt SO unnatural. So please, if it doesn't "work" for you and you're stressed out or confused... Please know that it's okay! Your baby is going to grow up and do great. I am SO glad now that I nursed my baby to sleep a lot, I rocked her and held her when she needed it, I nursed her when she cried for it, I didn't let her scream alone... I am SO glad I did a complete 180 from this book (that I was so adamant about before). It went against ALL my motherly instincts, and it felt so wrong for my baby. ***Here's what I think: you're the mom. You do you. Do what works for you. If it's this, great. If it's not, great. You're the best mom for your baby! Not a book...
(Bottom line: I hate this book with every fiber of my being.)

This was an incredible book to read and I would recommend it to everyone, both men and women. For me, it felt like an enlightment a happy way to understand that I am not weird, but women are evolving and developing in different ways tan many years ago and so the same life development cant be expected. That through self development, women have come to expect and desire more, and unfortunately not many men are willing to cope with it. But also to realice that some are, and that those men are worth looking for but that even if you cant find a man (for those who are heterosexual). Life is still great, through self development and friendships.
