Mythology: Clytie fell hopelessly in love with the god Helios ( Apollo)yet he would never notice her. As he flew his chariot across the sky towing the sun from East to West she watched in vain from down upon the earth in longing and desire..... a love that would never be returned. Her feet became roots in the soil; her face became the flower that tracks the motion of the sun. 

Today she is seen as the sunflower. ( though many agree that the actual flower that moves with the sun is the English Turnsoil)

The Song: Back in the days of Everclear and Weezer, Bill's brother Dustin was fooling around with a funny little power chord riff that became the basis for "Dark Eyes". The song was partly penned on a random scrap of paper, stuffed in a notebook, placed in a leather briefcase and completely forgotten about until the year 2014 when we all (Bill, Melissa and Will) joined together in the music making. 2016 was when we heard the Tainted Icarus sound and knew that the song could finally exist as it was meant to be! 

The Story: You see a disheveled, sinister-looking character in the city center. You want to avoid but somehow he pulls you in and then singles you out! Who is this evil creep? How dare he comment on your sunglasses of all things? Who cares? Why is he talking to you when there is a whole group around? ....... Well, soon you realize who the evil one really is......

Featuring the wise words of Chief Oren Lyons 

This is a piece dedicated to Sam Prock's(https://soundcloud.com/samprock) Climate Change Challenge.  A noise with purpose what could be better.  In constructing this piece I broke a few rules, a little experimental and out of my comfort zone.

The vocals are a speech from Chief Oren Lyons about climate change.  He was remembering a elder meeting from his youth.  Reciting Louie Badwound's address to the elders.. and how from his own perspective much of what Louie wanted the elders to do has come to pass.

Climate Change -  In my world...we live such short spans of time... its hard to really know anything for sure.  So maybe there is some room for interpretation on the data... but regardless here are the truths of my short may fly existence. 

People were using to much leaded gasoline that it was poisoning the food chain,  the meat, fish and grain.  So we had to get rid of it to keep ourselves healthy.  

People used so many aerosol spray cans,  that it began to destroy the ozone layer.  We had to stop to prevent further damage. 

The ocean used to be filled with all the fishes we liked to eat.  Now they are getting harder to find.

So with my limited knowledge and logic, yeah.. I think the people on this planet can change the climate by their actions...because they already have done it 3 other times in just a single, yet unfinished life time.

You can only have a legacy.. if the species survives.

This is a song in a typical neoclassical metal style from 80´s. This music has been inspired by the best gifted guitarists that I listened in my teenage -and I keep-, I mean people like Vinnie Moore, Joey Tafolla, Tony Macalpine... and Malmsteen of course.
The title is a warm wink to the amazing Joey Tafolla´s album "Out of the sun" but it also  talks about the fatal destiny of Icarus.

The Song: This is a song about one's longing for a better environment in which to live and the wish for a better quality of life. Truthfully, despite the glamour and luxury of the city, the ancient majesty of the forest continues to call us back. Our mind and heart reaches out toward the simple life just as the trees reach toward the stars in that crystal clear night sky.

Bills Note: Melodically and lyrically this could have been a simple country or folk tune but after Will and I did what we do to our songs, well, you can hear the result. Will is working these linear styled drum patterns here and it really took me a while to kind of live with this and develop the feel. We were performing this song live one night and he went into this groove and boy did it mess with my mind at first! 
This is another song that is built right around Melissa's vocals. She really brings it! We added more layers of vocals and harmonies not just to show off her voice but rather as a way to serve the song and help to give it meaning. I hope you love this song as much as I do.
