Here’s a curated selection of classic UK breakbeat tracks from 1988–1991, that I originally played back in 88-91 myself,  focusing on foundational tunes that shaped the sound between acid house, rave, and early jungle/hardcore:

Laid-back breakbeat groove with a jazz-like sax melody; became a rave anthem.

Yorkshire bass and breakbeats; one of the earliest proto-breakbeat rave tracks.

Shut Up and Dance
Raw social commentary over looped breaks — pure pirate radio energy.

Bleep meets break — legendary Warp Records release.

Mantronix – King of the Beats (UK Rave Circulation)
US roots, but massive UK influence in early rave circuit.

Cut-up samples, euphoric breaks, and pads — cornerstone of the hardcore sound.

The Scientist – The Exorcist
Early jungle vibe, combining dub FX, breaks, and eerie samples.

Sonz of a Loop Da Loop Era – Far Out
Ragga samples + fast breaks + rave stabs = blueprint for hardcore/jungle.

Dark, spacious breaks with early jungle undertones.

MISSION REPORT: BREAK THE CRAZY // OVERDRIVE ADHD OPS

Duration: 85 minutes
Agent in Charge: T-BASS // Hardcore Recon Unit
Objective: Breach attention barriers. Deliver high-speed emotional payload. No prisoners.

PHASE I — INFILTRATION (21:20–22:15)
Entry Point: Mark Breeze - Be Alone

The transmission begins under cloak — smooth 85 BPM bounce. Every tone is a baited breath. Si Thompson lures the gatekeepers out with Bubble Gum Mix precision. By the time "Visions Of Light" flickers, the walls are compromised.

🟢 Tactics: Soft gain, no harsh attack. Surgical cuts.
🟢 Subtle melodic locks. Rhythmic recalibration begins.

PHASE II — SYSTEM DISRUPTION (22:15–22:42)
“Toy Town” triggers the core alarm. But it’s too late.

One by one, familiar structures fall: Ravers Choice, Q-Tex, DJ Hixxy. Si Thompson’s remixes arrive like encrypted viruses — smiling, glitchy, deadly. “Reach For The Stars” and “Sent From Above” hit back-to-back. Euphoria is no longer optional.

🔴 Stacked harmonics, rapid fire breaks. Dreamlike static interruptions.
🔴 Agent switches decks without pause — zero visible seams.

PHASE III — FULL OVERDRIVE (22:42–23:11)
At this point, the bassline is sentient.

“Doomsday” is not a metaphor. “Free,” “Finite,” and “Ordinary World” tunnel through collapsed expectations. This isn’t a playlist. It’s a full-scale breach. Hardcore edits punch like coordinated drone strikes. Peaks layer over peaks. No room to breathe.

🟣 Snares triple-time, pads stretch into stroboscopic waves.
🟣 Transitions? Nonlinear. They fold through keys like origami bombs.

PHASE IV — EXIT STRATEGY (23:11–23:29)
“Concrete Angel” returns... but it’s transformed.

This is the exit wound: Ganar, Coone & Code Black tear it into digital lace. It's brutal and somehow tender. Every frequency is in freefall. “Heavens Cry” weeps in breakbeats. “Muzik Is Da Key” slams the vault shut.

⚫ Final payload = 157 BPM. Terminal velocity.
⚫ Data exfiltrated. All systems fried.

🛰️ AFTERMATH:
No encore. No rewind.
This mix wasn’t performed.
It was executed.
With intent. With method. With overdrive.

DJ T-Bass… TranceCore, Classics, HardTech, Rave, Techhouse bis hin zu Trance und Acid. Eine Reise der besten Tunes aus den 90er bis heute. Jedes Set ist anders, innovative und mit 4 Decks live gemixt. Egal ob vor 200 oder 25´000 Tanzwütige, er hat den Dancefloor im Griff. Sein Sound ist unverwechselbar und sehr intim. Seine Sets, begleitet von mitreißenden Rhythmen und Emotionen. Erzählen Geschichten und laden zu unvergesslichen musikalischen Reisen ein. Nach einer längeren künstlerischen Pause kehrt er an den „Plattentellern“ zurück. Er ist, so wie seine Musik, weiser und reifer geworden. 

Im Jahr 1988, mitten in Zürich, mit 16 Jahren veranstaltete und legte als DJ bereits bei seinen ersten „Underground Acid Warehouse Partys“. Als Veranstalter und als DJ gilt über die Grenzen Europas als einer der „God-Father“ Figuren der Rave & Techno Szene. In den 90er Jahren feierte er große internationale Erfolge als Headliner in vielen der bekanntesten Clubs und Raves dieser Zeit...um nur einige zu nennen; Schleyerhalle Stuttgart (Co Headliner mit Prodigy), Love Parade (DE), Mysteryland (NL), Coccorico (IT), Club UK (LDN,) Knowledge Club (SW1 London), Tunnel Club NYC (USA), Cherrymoon Club (BE), Universe The Tribal Gathering (DE), Gazometer (AU), Energy Festival (CH), Streeparade (CH), waren nur einige der vielen Stationen seiner großartigen DJ Karriere. Nach einer längeren künstlerischen Pause kehrt er wieder Er ist weiser und reifer geworden, so wie seine Musik. Sein unverwechselbarer und sehr persönlicher Sound
Egal 200 oder 25´000 Tanzwütige er hat den Dancefloor im Griff. Er war Mitbegründer von dem Energy Festival, und Magic Kingdom ein Co-Organisator der Streetparade und ist eine Legende in der Europäischen und der Schweizerischen Techno- House-Szene. Unter seinem damaligen Künstlernamen DJ T-Bass hatte er sich weltweit einen grossen Namen gemacht!
