A debutant on the 1Forty imprint that we felt just had to be showcased. One of his more grimey productions from the 22 year old producer is ‘Hydrocity’.

With releases previously on Wile Out, Project Allout Records & Electrikal Records the young Glaswegian has amassed support from fellow Scots - Polonis & Rapture 4D as well as Spooky and refix master Gundam. With opportunities few and far between north of the border until more recently for grime music in Scotland, Casement has paved his way into the scene through playing at the likes of Stereo, Broadcast, King Tuts, Kelburn Festival & Woodlands Festival whilst honing his sound in the studio for the past 5 years. With Polonis & Rapture putting the scene firmly on the map since the Red Bull Beetroots Project it’s great to see more producers coming through from the north with such a unique take on Grime music.

Casements interests go much further than just grime when it comes to underground genres as he is recognised also for his UK Funky creations which have been supported by Murder He Wrote amongst other DJ’s on Radar Radio. 2018 is looking to be the breakout year for the versatile producer with other plans in the pipeline already in place with another Label all to be revealed later this year.

It may come as no surprise after hearing J. Kong’s discography that the 19 year old has a strong musical background. Tutored in classical music at a young age, studying musical theory and playing in a number of orchestras and jazz bands. His interest in underground culture in recent years inspired him to take that musical knowledge and apply it to production at the age of 15. Through his recent move to North London, his immersion in the capital’s rich musical culture has increased tenfold.

Some 4 years later he has a host of releases under his belt varying across the Bass, Grime & Dubstep spectrum on the likes of Saucy Music and Ali McK’s Articulate Sound. His debut EP ‘Nonsense’ on In:Flux Audio in November 2018 charted at #4. This also had remixes from the likes of 1Forty’s J69. Other releases have seen him receive support from Sammy Virji, Bushbaby & more. Appearances at the likes of Lightbox (London), Thirty3Hz in Guildford and The Cellar in Oxford have also boosted his reputation supporting the likes of Skepsis, DJ Hazard and Unglued. 

He continues 2019 in a similar vain with a Grime/Dubstep hybrid on ‘Cut That’ featuring Lavz. A 23 year old female MC from Luton who’s been on the circuit releasing music across Hip Hop & Grime since her teen years. Receiving support continuously in recent years on the BBC Introducing platforms as well as Reprezent Radio. Lavz has live performances under her belt as well on bigger stages performing at the likes of Stanton Calling alongside Akala and Little Sims.

The 2 have come together together to open up the ‘4 Weeks Of 1Forty’ project in weighty style.

Panar is usually known for producing UKG bangers but this track brings some serious breaks/rave heat that is certainly made for the end of the night. The intro sucks you in with some unbelievable euphoric synths and breaks style drums to then drop into a huge sounding bass thats going to rip any sound system to shreds. The track is a nod to the quality of music that Nottingham is producing at the minute, and Panar is up there currently. We hope you enjoy this one, its an absolute banger
