Last part of the Korghettini Electronics series!

Pancratio serves up the 2nd hotly anticipated part of his Korghettini Electronics project on One Trip To Avyon. Pancratio: In the early 2000s, Korg invented, engineered and distributed four little instruments called Electribes. A drum machine, one analog modeling synthesizer, a sampler and a music workstation respectively called ER1, EA1, ES1 and EM1. Initially I always found it very difficult to use them in my studio, because they weren’t really fitting with the sound and the workflow. Between march and may 2020, I stopped worrying about trying to force the Electribes into the setup: i just put them together and started jamming, recording several tracks without using anything else apart from these little boxes and their own effects… eventually sampling a few things along the way with my headphones into the ES1. The title, as well as the aesthetic of the project, are inspired by a future-retro approach to early electronics and 70s Italian product advertisement.

S.A.M. is back on their own Delaphine label after a four year hibernation period.

The leading cut ‘Project050’ comes in two version, a Studio Version and a Live Mix.

The foundation is a grooving 12bit 909 pattern that’s as crisp as it’s phat. Combed in between the syncopes of the groove are layers of acidic and resonant tones padded with swelling chords lifting you in and out of the metaphysical.

Second track ‘Ha’ reveals references within a wide range of dance music history from early Derrick Carter-esque beats and 90’s dub techno to organ Melodies and UKG sub bass-lines. The transient beats work like tent poles for the thriving and continuously evolving melodic culture growing underneath.

S.A.M. is showing a drive and a ferocity with this EP that speaks to an interesting 10th year of Delaphine.

For its second release of 2023, Marginal Returns presents its most anticipated - and largest - output to date. Levat is a decade-plus friend of the label, and like us, has always believed that good things come to those who wait. It has been an absolute pleasure seeing his musical career come in full blossom, with an all hardware, fully bespoke live set that is still the talk of each and every town it has visited. 
Live Cutz collects some favourites from the first couple of years of live performances: an all bases covered selection of functional club music providing every angle of “our” groove. From side A’s tougher, peaky moments, the mood switches directly to B1’s technicolour explosion ‘Vai’ and the introspective, grooving B2 ‘M-City’. C1’s ‘Re-Merge’ is a contemporary reimagining of electroclash. C2, ‘BL9’, is a collaboration with the infamous Bruno Schmidt - resulting in a textured, heads-down, tracky roller. Side D strikes a more pensive note, with the acidic infinity of ‘Ice’ and melancholically melodic sign off ’Luv 22’.
