To mark their 25th year as one of the most esteemed imprints in dance music, Hospital Records head into 2021 with a groundbreaking selection of 25 brand new remixes, reworks, covers and VIPs of NHS classics, combining pinnacle Hospital figures and friends of the label for an all-encompassing celebration of drum & bass.

‘H25PITAL’ embarks on a journey throughout the past, present and future of Hospital Records, featuring the likes of Dillinja, S.P.Y, Flava D, DJ Marky, Unglued, Makoto, Loxy & Ink, Mitekiss, Nookie and more. Their quarter-century birthday commemorations raise the bar once again as a variety of sounds and styles come together for a 174BPM compilation like no other.

DRS & Dynamite, two legends who have taken the scene by storm with their collaborative outfit, team up with Logistics for a new-wave remix of the 2009 heater ‘Jungle Music’. Wordsmiths by nature, DRS & Dynamite lay down carefully crafted bars paying homage to their love for jungle and its roots over Logistics’ revamped instrumental.

Stepping up for remix duties on Danny Byrd’s iconic ‘Salute (feat. MC GQ)’ is none other than the king of the amen, Remarc offering his clear cut production skill. Breaks processed to perfection and an unruly bassline are fused flawlessly with elements of the original, including the nostalgia-inducing horns and illustrious vocals of drum & bass veteran GQ.

An instantly recognisable anthem to any drum & bass fan and an undeniable staple in the Hospital Records back catalogue, ‘Beautiful Lies’ by B-Complex gets the remix treatment from L-Side who’s been making moves with the V Recordings crew. The future meets a classic as minimal bouncing drum work and ripping bass stabs instil bursts of brand new energy into the track.

Expect a collision of sonic realms in Halogenix’s remix of Kings Of The Rollers’ infamous ‘Shella (feat. Chimpo)’. Flying the flag for the Critical Music family, Halogenix’s 2021 rendition which has been generating excitement from corner to corner in the world of drum & bass for some time now unleashes an absolute growler of a bassline as Manchester’s very own Chimpo dominates the topline.

The highly sought after VIP of Metrik’s ‘Cadence (feat. Reija Lee)’ is finally seeing the light of day. Dreamlike synthesis and ravishing vocals build a picturesque soundscape which soon evolves into Metrik’s signature high-octane flow as he delivers cutting-edge dancefloor vibes.

Calling upon pioneers of the scene, from Dillinja’s remix of Urbandawn’s ‘Come Together (feat. She watched with endless eyes, the deep, black wells of the infinite void staring back at her. Undulating in subtle and almost imperceptible fluid motion under her gaze in pure smooth darkness, freckled with imperfections that morphed into intricately delicious fractal forms. Moments passed, stacked in the lattice of forever… she could have counted them at first, but the spiral form of her conscious mind was lost to the reflection, her mind smeared across the boundaries of time evenly in a permanent state of heightened alertness. The eye of the mirror held her, so simple in its intricate construction, yet nothing like it existed elsewhere in the world. Its immaculate surface was flawless, holding the power to reflect an unimaginable, infinite scale of perfection, rendering even the most imperfect of things pure by its touch. She had dwelled in front of it for countless days, at first clothed as she lost herself in her own eyes and under the gaze of the twisted, malevolent entities that adorned its edges, but the desire to reveal herself was beyond compelling. It saw her in a way that she had never seen herself. She had stripped away the layers of fabric, fighting back the claws of madness as she had to tear away her eyes to remove the garments, diving deeply back into the dark and utterly beautiful voids of those eyes that started back at her as she locked its gaze once more. She sat upright, opening her consciousness further, fully revealing her mind and body to its unblinking eye, reaching out with the deepest part of herself in connection. It reached back… the chill of the jolt ran through her from the center of her forehead down through her spine, spreading across her skin with a deep malevolence. Before her the vision that gazed back changed sharply, as the image of her double twisted vile into disfigured beauty. Her mind erupted across itself, as the very mirror encouraged it… spilling with unimaginable flow from within and painting a deep delusion on the collage of her body and soul. She was AWAKE.

Whether it's hard techno, industrial hardcore or drum & bass, dance music producer The Clamps has stayed at the helm of its ever-growing scene. And having such a wide array of influences has helped him to become one of the most notorious players in the darkest realms, having already grown within the trenches of French label Kosen Production, a platform well known for pushing forward likeminded artists. Whether it's his collaborations with the likes of Nick Bee and Redject, or his standalone singles, he's been heralded by many as a pivotal art within the underground, which is why the announcement of his forthcoming album was met with great anticipation from across the market.

Already releasing on the likes Prolix's Trendkill, Invisible, Eatbrain, Titan and Impact Music, he's made his music felt throughout a wide range of imperative labels. The second part of his 'Odyssey LP' sampler packages comes in the form of both 'Looking for Trouble' featuring the notorious Nuklear MC and 'LHS 1140b', which highlight the LP's versatility whilst also engineering two darkly atmospheric cuts which pull you into the sound which The Clamps is renowned for.

If you're a frequent visitor of the international DJing circuit, you're sure to have heard the sampler's A-side 'Looking For Trouble'. It's a destructive call to arms, one which bares its sonic artillery but first rolls out on strung-out note patterns, a rolling soundscape and an intro which pulls you up an intimidating breakdown. As the track catapults into its first immersive plunge, you're taken for the ride and each constructed hook grabs at you with an intimidating snarl, alongside Nuklear's growling lyricism. 'LHS 1140b' is just as gripping but in its own way, with a heavily distorted bassline and crashing drum sequences which create an effortlessly driving single. This is a secondary sampler proving that The Clamps forthcoming album is a force to be reckoned with. It also pedestals the type of diversity which he's historically championed for, although this can only be expected from an artist who's devoted himself to his craft for such an expansive time frame.
