Auteur-compositeur originaire de Toulouse désormais installé à Göteborg en Suède, Camille Bénâtre continue d’écrire des chansons douces légèrement mélancoliques mêlant songwriting anglo-saxon (Bill Fay, Josh Rouse), musique brésilienne et langue française. 

Après 4 albums (dont le dernier ‘Dommage’ est sorti en mars 2024 et playlisté par FIP, France Inter, les Inrocks ou la RTBF en Belgique), de nombreux concerts solo et premières parties et une résidence ‘inspiration’ sur une île en Suède en 2024/2025, il sort à l'automne 2025 deux nouveaux titres enregistrés en une session au studio Music a Matic à Göteborg avec les productrices suédoises Klara Goliger et Linnéa Ljungblad.

Composing and producing imaginative music to a high standard has driven me since long before 2007 when I began extensive use of sequencers and got involved in video soundtracks. I've produced and played drums on albums for Jowe Head, Gardyloo Spew and all the instruments on for Anthony Sobati and composed and assistant produced I am Meat's self-titled album. I self produced Poverty Keeps It All Together under the name Private Plebs, and followed it up with an album of songs and an album of instrumentals. During my BMus(Hons) studies at BIMM/Tech Music Schools and in commissions that followed, I've produced original compositions from briefs. Throughout lockdowns I recorded session drums at my home studio for Ceri James and Claus Buehler. I also upgraded my video editing skills and have had 2 recent commissions. As a drummer I perform with various artists including 10-piece band Perfect Stranger and for 5 years toured extensively with the Tiger Lillies. I'm also a music tutor.  I continue to study, create and learn in my own studio and in collaborations.

The Healing is an 8-track album I produced, composed and performed for singer and teacher Anthony Sobati, that connects it's themes of family connection and dedications through eastern and western genres including Iranian EDM and pop, bhangra, raga and piano rock ballad.
