Amazing version. Better than original in my opinion.

Written by Anieszka and produced by Peter Holz (Gang of Youths, Peking Duck, Olly Murs), ‘Alchemy’ blends sultry tones with an authenticity that speaks to the soul. The song title ‘Alchemy’ arose from the thoughts of a chemical connection with someone you meet and feel lifetimes of familiarity and trust. The lyrics ‘thoughts of you linger on my skin’ and ‘I can’t wash it off’ showcase the intertwining of the physical and emotional layers between two human beings. The song presents vulnerability and intricacy; Anieszka really opens up to the audience, both vocally and lyrically. The melody, although simple, calms the mind and takes you to a serene, content place, letting your thoughts drift away to that one special person you may have in your life or that you hope to meet soon.

Marli and I found out about this contest that Portugal. The Man is holding in which we could cover their song, "Live in the Moment". We were a little late to the party and had to scrap this out in less than a week, but we hope y'all enjoy nonetheless!

Live in the Moment (Portugal. The Man Cover)

I grew up in Franklin, a suburban town in southern Massachusetts. I began privately writing music in my early teenage years, hoping I would eventually strengthen my abilities enough to feel comfortable sharing my songs with the world outside of my bedroom. At 19, I decided to drop out of college in New York after two frustrating years, and instead devote my time to furthering my own music. I have spent the entirety of my time since then honing my writing and musicianship and developing some type of artistic voice. Over the last year & a half, my main focus has been creating an album with which I hope to expand my audience and establish myself as an independent artist. I wrote, recorded, mixed & mastered my first record, Violins, on my own over the course of two years, in some of the least-ideal conditions possible. Following the release of the album, I moved from New York back to Massachusetts.

Now, I am regularly gigging and performing my original music with a band of my close friends, in addition to writing more new music. Despite all of the doubtfulness and apprehension I experienced during my time in New York, I couldn't be happier with where my band and I have ended up. With a talented and reliable team in my corner, I now see a much brighter future and a much clearer path for my music.
