The celebration of the Autumnal Equinox, Harvest Home, Mabon, the Feast of the Ingathering, is a modern Pagan ritual of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth and a recognition of the need to share them to secure the blessings of the Goddess and the God during the coming winter months. The name Mabon was coined by Aidan Kelly around 1970 as a reference to Mabon ap Modron, a character from Welsh mythology. Among the Sabbats, it is the second of the three Pagan harvest festivals, preceded by Lammas / Lughnasadh and followed by Samhain. (Source Wikipedia)

As far as we can make out, this appears to be the very first release from Portuguese producer KL4USTRO... which seems odd, because the grooves contained herein sound far too accomplished to be the work of a mere newbie! 'Under Control' will suit those who like their deep house on the more sophisticated and slightly leftfield side - or perhaps their nu-jazz and trip-hop on the dancier side? - as it tops understated, moody synths with a chopped 'n' looped, jazzy female vocal in a way that's vaguely reminiscent of Charles Webster's late 90s work with Shara Nelson as Presence. It might take a listen or two to sink it but this is a proper little gem.
