REVERENCE

I gently pushed the heavy door.
It opened as an invitation.
My steps searched for the proper pace.
Not too fast, not too slow,
driven by carefully crafted thoughts,
not too harsh, not too kind,
as the stones all around me 
seemed able to read my mind.
I listened carefully to the stillness of light,
in deep respect for the truth to come,
the final verdict for my troubled life.
Deep inside I knew I would just kneel and accept,
for I too would see the fullness of my heart.

A relationship song.  A song with symbolism, innuendo and up for personal interpretation.  This song is about trying to hang onto the things that matter and letting go of what doesn’t.  Fix what's worth fixing, don't walk away and brush it off as 'C'est la vie'.    We need to feel comfortable in any relationship.  Things sometimes come to us easy but can also be easily lost.  It’s important to take a step back during these experiences and take it all in, do an emotional inventory and change along the way.  If you've made the effort and it didn't happen then... easy come, easy go.
