When Manuel sent me a guitar track over a year ago I fairly quickly decided to write an epilogue for Major Tom. Little did I know that I would end up taking a longish break from writing music. With infinite patience Manuel waited for me until now and to my even greater surprise this retro lyric has become almost current with the two NASA astronauts in space waiting for their return trip to Earth.

In art, we strive to bring order and symmetry and thus create an aesthetic beauty that the universe would never create by itself. The Rose Theatre existed for only 17 years before its demolition in 1604. In the days of Shakespeare's tragedies this was surely a sad tale indeed. 
With 22 theatres in London at the end of the Tudor dynasty these bawdy wooden palaces were situated on the rough southern side of the Thames where cock fighting and bear baiting were also prevalent attractions. The remains of the Rose Theatre's foundations were discovered during recent redevelopment and are now a much heralded visitor attraction.
