It's been nearly 5 years since Devonwho and I were working on a joint 12" for All City Dublin. Since life doesn't always go as planned (especially with artistic investments) we never released the tracks and have been sitting on an EP of sorts ever since. 
In a recent conversation with Devon, we both thought it had been long enough and we should just give them away...

AAMAR - More Paradise

This album was a partial endeavour into all branches of trip hop, spanning all of the eras of music. I said in my Hidden Gems Vol.I EP that i would make a jazz EP, but it proved more difficult that once thought! It still happening though; I've just got to get my music theory up to par. I think there also might be a return to Drum & Bass/Electronic genres, in the form two/three different EP's.

In the one year period since the release of Hidden Gems Vol.I, I have also been learning Ableton as well, which has been interesting (Primarily used to be FL only). I think looking at workflow and attempting to refine it is a must for any artist. It brought me to the realization of just how much workflow affects the sound of the output you create. Trying to refine a process while still retaining the exact same sound is a difficult process! :P

The concept behind the EP is multi faceted. Everything from the cover to the names to the audio content inside the tracks themselves tells a story. I've used a lot of layering inside the tracks and have really tried to provide emphasis and tension where i felt necessary to create amazing moments in a track. California-based producer @joenoraa is the fourth artist to participate in the ongoing 10:00 series over at [neonpajamas] Records where artists are given a ten minute platform of open space to showcase their music however they prefer. For joe nora, he crafted a seamless relaxed aquatic experience equal parts melancholic and euphoric, feeling like the first signs of springtime rain. Blending driphop bumps with field recordings and vocals from Lunah, it's a ten minute voyage not to be missed. Look out for much more from joe down the road, as he continues to be prolific with his signature sound.

joe nora's 10:00 [EP]

First single from my debut album "Story time" out now! 

"This track is inspired by Menik's short time spent growing up in San Francisco.

The intro audio is actually camcorder audio from 27 years ago, in the footage Menik is about to get on a tram by pier 39 in San Fran, the voices you can hear are his Grandma Pat (RIP), dad and brother, there's also more audio clips at the end of Menik's brother and Mother talking about new toys, it was a happy time!

The acoustic guitar represents Menik's dad as he used to play to Menik and his brother when they were kids. The electric guitar represents Menik as He played all the way through his teens and the computer analogue type sounds represent us all as we were all computer nerds.

All the guitar, keys and percussion was played live by Menik him self. The dialogue of the girls talking about brothers is actually from a @Soulection film of their time at Coachella festival.. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoKnMKXdyc4 14:00) When Menik heard her say brothers in an American accent it triggered his inspiration for the track which is why he had to sample it.”
