Greek producers Lex & Locke (@lex-athens & @locke-move) have combined to deliver a sumptuous four track EP via @delusionsofgrandeur. Lex brings his intricate knowledge of house music garnered from a life in music which has seen him become one of the key figures in the Athens Underground where he is behind well loved record store Radical Soundz. Locke meanwhile is well seasoned traveler which has taken him from South American Jungle parties to burning hot African Desert Raves to the underground clubs of Berlin. All of these experiences have been infused into the delectable 7 Day Path EP which also features LV regular Dj Rocca on the remix of title track 7 Day Path delivering some sun soaked psychedelic boogie.

To celebrate the release Lex & Locke have put together a very tasty mix for us showing the many sides of the their house music prowess. A collection of their favourite play out tracks it's a great insight into their musical loves from Jazzy edges to electro boogie and heavy percussive funk it's a great combination.

LV Selectors 49 - Lex & Locke (Delusions of Grandeur)

Lex first grabbed our attention following his brilliant release on B2 Recordings which became a staple vibe setter in Jimpster’s DJ sets and Sofa Sessions streams in 2021. Gaining his deep musical knowledge through his own revered record store Radical Soundz, the Greek DJ and producer has been immersed in dance music for over 20 years and considered one of the key figures in the Athens underground house scene. With releases and remixes on labels such as Leng, Samosa, King Street and Black Riot, Lex is making waves internationally with a unique sound that fuses live elements and expansive arrangements taking influence from masters such as Ron Trent but adding a warm, cosmic glow. Fellow Greek artist Locke joins proceedings for this EP bringing his own psychedelic sound garnered from his years playing crazy events taking in South American jungle parties, burning hot African desert raves, the underground clubs of Berlin to the sparkling coastal shores of Baja California. Locke is more than just a DJ. He is a connector, educator and traveler whose soulful music has the crowds chasing the sun as he brings love and celebration to the events he plays.

On title track 7 Day Path we’re treated to a beautiful spacious jam which unfolds across 7 minutes, driving, live percussion keeping the energy high whilst Herbieesque synth leads help to create a beautifully paced and dynamic arrangement.

Next up we have Italian legend DJ Rocca onboard for a remix of 7 Day Path. The prolific producer and DJ has been a tour de force since the late 90’s collaborating with the likes of Howie B, Dimitri From Paris, Chris Coco, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova producing singles, remixes and albums for labels such as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Futureboogie, !K7, Tirk, International Feel, Defected, Rotters Golf Club and Faze Action Recordings. Here he adds his trademark dubby disco wiggle pushing the original in a jazzy direction with live flute. Definitely one to be heard under the stars on a Croatian beach for maximum Adriatica effect!

Flipping over, things head deeper and darker with See No Ball featuring Locomotives, a more straight-up heads-down stripped back club jam with a repeated vocal, funky guitar chops and a smattering of improvised synth and Hammond B3 keeping things jazzy and musical.

Closing out this brilliant EP we have Catch Up With The Sun which drops the BPM’s for a low-slung cosmic jam loaded with good vibes.

NDATL continues with the return of Abacus to the label, "The Lower End Theory" is another slab of deepness from the produced who has released on classic labels "Prescription"&"Guidance to name a few. 
The EP dives right in with the title track "The Lower End Theory" bouncin with a deep bassline then iced over with glossy keys that give you sight into his theory. Next "Atlanta Deep" is his ode to a late night drive in the A. Then on the flip we have "Mortise & Tenon" a 10min journey thru Detroit Techno to Toronto's underground. A perfect title as "Mortise & Tenon" is a type of woodworking joint! Now close your eyes & throw your head back into the Lower End Theory.

The Art of Djing (Dj set / interview for Transmission Blog)

In recent years we have seen the star of DJ EFUNK  emerge as a recognizable staple in the underground house music scene in Thessaloniki.

His musical identity is music from the US(New York, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco etc), french filtered house and jackin style.

Born and raised in Stuttgart Germany he engaged early as a teenage DJ in the Hip Hop culture and gathered strong musical experiences from the black music scene (funk, electro-funk, rap and soul).

Started Dj'ing in school parties and local clubs in Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart while he was still a high school student.

Deeply influenced by the black local DJ's from USA spinning in the area of Stuttgart (Cut master Rob etc.), he mastered advanced turntable techniques and achieved the 3rd position in the official DMC Greece.    

During his university years he founded the BASEMENT parties together with friends and introduced the original New York and Chicago house sound to the city of Heraklion and island of Crete.


Today he is presenting a radio mix show every week at plasticradio.gr and making DJ appearances in Bars and Clubs in Thessaloniki and abroad, focused mainly on places with dance culture.

His DJ mixes on Mixcloud.com are positioned among the top 10 positions for #house and #deep house in Greece and the top 30 in the #Global Chicago House chart.

DJ EFUNK made recently (24/3/23) his debut as a producer with the track "Music in the night" together with the talented electronic music producer EMANUEL.

The track is released by Scuba Grooves and is available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbGV878kfps and all music stores worldwide.

His regular DJ booth contains 2 DENON PRIME S5000M PRIME vinyl-feel CD players, an Allen Heath XONE92 mixer, a Bozak 4 band Isolator, a TRAKTOR CONTROL Z2 and 2 Technics MK II turntables.

Happy and open to all kinds of collaboration with Clubs, Bars, Event Organizers, Radio Stations, Record Labels and music professionals.
