I Won't Let It Have Me

In My Sight

Born in '93, Government issued in' 18, and incarcerated  in '23, my life has been nothing short of "boring."

Around the age of 6, my father, Russell, gave me a gift that would become the foundation to my musical journey: a $20 Casio keyboard that lit up from Radio shack. I learned quickly what sounded right and music to me over the years became more like a spoken language and expression rather than a means to entertain. It wasn't long after that I then caught my dad playing "Smoke On The Water" that I soon had the fixation to learn guitar.

Years passed, and at the ripe age of 16, I was fighting the fear of crowds and performing in front of people by joining my highschool's Mens' Choir and Drama Club. I spent all my time doing theatre, showchoir, and talent shows, even winning the first one I ever attended; BEST ACT, which was a piano Mashup of Coldplay songs, phantom of the opera, and Queen. These extracurricular activities and what I did in them to become better at my craft resonate with me to this day. Thank you Mr. McMichen and Mrs. Bohlke for seeing my potential and giving me the confidence in myself.

Years went by and with it, so did time and attention. I remember one day seeing the the amount of dust that had collected on my keyboard and guitars. "What a waste.." I thought. That was back in 2021, a time that was painful and educational. The events of that year, and of 2022, would eventually lead me to becoming incarcerated for a whole year.

Jail was something different for me. For the first time in my life, I sat my ass down and poured my emotions out onto the cheap college-ruled paper issued by the jail and to my surprise, I wrote exactly what I felt and conjured up a confidence and ambition that would eventually lead to the creation of "ALL THAT IS WRONG",  my first album which angstly portrays my take on love, addiction, and the realization that maybe I am the the one thing holding myself back.


My name is Aaron Thomas Bradley, but you can call me Tommy.
